You are formless awareness fundamentally, conceiving yourself to be. Conceive yourself to be a non-smoker. You're just not into it.

@Nothigbutthetruth I used to smoke and tried just about everything to quit. Cold turkey (numerous times), pills, patches, nothing worked. I ultimately quit using mindfulness, which I couldn’t believe it! Lol Anyway, an app called craving 2 quit was priceless. I credit that app bc it helped quit and was my intro into mindfulness, in turn, sparking my spiritual journey. I just made 5 years on Jan 5th! But you got this! Trust me!

If you can catch yourself being hooked by these thoughts that you currently identify as part of "you", and gently nudge them out of the personal space around your head into a further out, smaller spot in your visual field so you can observe them in a more disconnected way, it may help lessen your perceived personal connection to the thoughts and demotivate them from triggering the actions that normally follow (smoking). The more you are able to catch these thought/emotion hooks and remember you are NOT this mass of swirling thoughts, the more you can allow the emotions that are stuck to these thoughts (and vice versa) to dissipate as you disidentify them from the real you, the peaceful observing awareness.
