As a Chinese I'm really surprise to see you get familiar with Chinese through 成语故事 or the Bible, especially the Bible. Even I find it a little bit difficult to understand (of course I mean the Chinese version), maybe becaouse I don't familiar with the cultrual background. But I think the main reason is the translation sometimes isn't so accurate, or to say the Chinese words sometimes fail to convey the ideas of the Bible, and 成语故事 as the opposite. So I recommend novels for teenagers to advanced Chinese learners, like Harry Potter? or something that not closely connected to cultural background. Just a little advice, hope it's useful! 加油！！（It's really hard for me to type so long in English TaT, hope there is no mistake😢)

Yes, that is quite helpful! I agree that novels would also be a really great way to practice reading and character recognition. Also, I understand that the cultural background of some texts might be a barrier if it is not familiar, such as with using the Bible or 成语故事. I think they can still be good practice and ways to learn about new and different things :) Also, 你的英语很好！😍👏

Learning Mandarin by reciting fragment words and phrases is incredibly dull. Thanks to Immersive Translate, I can read some web novels on my own for relaxation.
