speed reading is good but generally its more on recognition and result to surface level understanding. It is good for facts but it is bad when you want to develop conceptual understanding and using it in different contexts and increase logic and reasoning skills, it is good for short-term but harms in the long-term if you become dependent on it

My favorite method of reviewing (my method) is instead of reading a book, take down notes on important words that makes you feel it's important, then when you are writing/listing them all down, you will most likely understand/absorb the informations of what you are writing, then after writing it down, you will notice that you know some of the words you wrote, after that, it will just take you 20 minutes to memorize it all, hope this shi works for you too, cause I use this alot and it helps me to pass exams and all that shenanigans.

A small tip is when you feel stressed and like you don't understand just repeat to yourself "this topic is so easy","I understand this so we'll","this is so easy","everything works out for me" I know it can be frustrating but the more you affirm it can help you calm down and you'll eventually start believing it and seeing the effect, try to believe even if it's just for a small moment and remember YOU GOT THIS!

For the internal distractions I do something like body doubling but with a camera and not a person, I film myself and narrate what I am doing and how as if I was speaking to an audience on KZbin, this helps me stay on track and it helps me actually do things and get things done rather than procrastinate because I find it fun and my way of thinking when I am alone is to talk out loud in a way that sounds like I am narrating to my audience. Filming yourself and not posting can help with internal distractions, sometimes even more so if you narrate what you are learning, also saying what you are learning can help memorize it better. However reading out loud may slow your reading. It slows mine down from over 300 to only 134 words a minute.

I like how you’ve chosen an Italian book in the video so as to not distract your viewers from the content of the book and to instead solely focus on the point that you’re making (and to make it much smoother to focus on your index finger as a visual pointer), since the vast majority of your viewers (probably) don’t speak Italian like you probably do (since you seem to be based in Italy as your channel’s location suggests), and I think that you might have done this consciously. Nice job!

Using these techniques can reduce clarity of the topic you're studying, it might cause some confusion and misunderstanding of the topic if you're not careful enough. Overall I think this video is great! It addresses distractions and ways to tryna get rid of them. Although I can say I'm certain that the techniques provided can work, it might not be a great way to study as it's fast paced and our mind takes time to process what we're studying.

Learning how to learn faster can be challenging because learning is a fundamental aspect of intelligence. While it's difficult to directly "boost" your IQ, the real key lies in understanding how to learn effectively. This doesn't necessarily mean speeding through material, but rather improving your ability to retain and apply what you learn. By mastering proper learning techniques, you'll not only remember more but may also enhance your cognitive abilities over time. If your goal is to learn faster, focus on learning a variety of topics correctly and methodically. It's the quality of learning, not just the speed, that ultimately makes a difference.

@@unconventional-improvement I feel like this is to try and appeal to those desperate to skip the cue in the hard work department. The reality is if you want to fully understand something and study as good as you can, it is going to take longer and it is going to be harder, there are no short cuts. The "short cuts" can come once it becomes so easy for you to memorise all the content from a subject because you've rigorously revised all of the key knowledge. I understand you're covering a technique, but I feel like you conveniently covered the most appealing one to the majority of people, as the majority don't like being faced with the reality of having to study countless hours per day, consistently (yes of course with breaks so its doable), that needs to be covered.

This video explains how to study faster. It covers two main topics: distractions and quick reading. The video explains how to identify and overcome external and internal distractions. It also introduces three quick reading techniques: use a visual indicator, count up to four in your head and move from one word group to another. The video ends with a recommendation from Jim Quick for a quick reading course.
