Thanks guys. I love everything about the word knowledge and paragraph comprehension portion. Math, needs MAJOR brushing up. My thing is, all these formulas. There's so many of them to even pick out the right one with like 1:13 seconds left on the clock ha. But I will take everything into consideration. I plan on preparing myself by going back to the gym this year. To at least get the circulation going. It's either this, or civilian police though. So either way, I have nothing to lose. I wanted to improve my GT score. Unfortunately, after 17 years since I graduated high school, I was only able to get a 41.I took it the second time and got a 76. How did I do it? My recruiter told me about March2Sucess. Took the pretest and did all the lessons for Math and English. I spent on average 2-3 hours for about 3 weeks. I tried other programs but hands down March2Success is the best! Another thing I want to mention that if you improve by 20+ points, you must take a confirmation test to ensure you did not cheat. I get to take mine in a few days.

2. 1 just had one of my friends who was pretty smart help me brush up on some things. Within 2 months on avg I spent maybe 20mins studying a day. I have ADD so I'm not very good at focusing for that long. Now i leave in 5 days to Fort Benning on an OPT 40 contracts. Life is good

In a way you can still take your asvab at the recruiting station if they offer the PiCAT. My station offers the PiCAT which I take this Friday. Your recruiter will know immediately your AFQT and line scores once you finish the test. Then within 30 days of completing the PiCAT you have to take a verification test at Meps to basically prove you didn't cheat. If you don't score within 20 of your original PiCAT score you will have to take the full asvab right there. Also you can only take the PiCAT once, and cannot be taken by someone who has taken the asvab before. P.s. Thank you for all the information you share, it has helped me a ton, really appreciate you.

Honestly the Asvab just has a bunch of stuff you learn in 8th/9th grade.... I was able to get a 69 my first try and I felt like I forgot a lot of the math given. Just make sure you study a bit of algebra 1/2 and you'll be fine with the math section

I don’t understand why everyone freaks out about the ASVAB. Qualifying score is in the low 30’s which means you can fail and still get in. I’m not the smartest man in the world (C student my whole life) but I took the ASVAB (2003) hung over AF and didn’t study because I joined on a impulse decision and scored a 92. Just don’t overthink it!!

Slight Slice I dropped out of school in the 8th grade, And have to qualify from a GED. Which means my standards for passing is a 50 or higher. So not only do I have to study my life away, but I have to learn almost 4 years worth of math I’ve never been taught in school.

I honestly have coasted my high school years and spent most of my time skipping class.I ended up leaving HS, graduated from job Corp, got my medical trade, online diploma and turned my life around completely. So Because of my bs, I didn’t learn a lick of math and other basic stuff. Science is good now, only because of my work field. Reading and writing is kind of a no brainer. I learned a lot being on the job and because of life I guess. It’s really embarrassing to say this but I can’t even pass the freaking practice test they give me. The timing doesn’t make it any better.lol.So now I’m having to start from scratch so I can at least get a decent score. All I want is infantry.

Horrible, make a schedule and a goal think about it a lot make sure you make a good plan, forget about it just follow and trust yourself, you made a good plan. Adjust if you need to but study for at least 3 months before. Dont just take it!

I really want to go the warrant officer route so my situation is a bit different but you still need a minimum 110 gt score. The fact that you can take the test atleast 2 more times. Just breathe and practice good test taking strategies, study and you will be fine. Yes its a big test but you can't let it get the best of you, just think of it as another test in school.

Look up the exact line scores you need with your recruiter he should be able to look that up. For your friend 11x is the MOS he needs with a GT score of 110

Could you ask Rosario what a 113 gt score for the Marine Corps would be for the Army? The recruiter said it was between 111 and 116 without having my Redd report since it's outdated. I just want a second opinion on it and my asvab was a 71 if that helps.

LaMarcus Madison each branch has a different grading rubric for the ASVAB. In order to know for sure if you qualify for the Army a recruiter would have to pull a Redd report. Ask for a copy for yourself.

I failed the practice test but my recruiter told me to just go ahead and take the test because the practice test is actually harder than the actual test. Well I'll be going to turn in my paper work on Monday so that she can schedule me for the actual test. 🤗

The whole ASVAB, your GT score needs to be high enough to get a Option 40.

My father, (who didn't end up joining the army) had a score of 89 on the asvab in 85, has the scoring changed, and was that a good score?

Thanks for the tips. Since I have a tendency to study either two days before the test or a day before the test, I won't do that this time, hopefully. My weakest areas are PC and WK. My six months hit after June 17th, but I don't know when I'm retaking it exactly. I've passed it before, but it's been almost a year since I've done so. I didnt pay much attention in high school, but I have been studying/practicing for the ASVAB. So, is it really not that complicated?

IMO it isn't that complicated , its a fairly straight forward test. However everyone isn't built the same. I know people who thought the test was difficult that got better grades than me. Some people thought the test was easier than me and got lower grades that life.
