Hey! When I first moved to France I was an au pair (basically a live in nanny), so I lived with a French family for one year. That’s how I learned the basics of French just by being surrounded by the language and hearing it everyday. After that I started watching movies/series & listening to podcasts in French, that’s helped me a lot as well! I wrote a post about some of my favorite ways to learn French on my blog if you wanna check it out 🙂 wheretianatravels.com/is-french-hard-to-learn/

Hi! I really love your video. I'm currently finishing up a bachelor's degree this year in the States and was wondering if I missed my opportunity to study abroad. I'm 21 and am soon going for work experience, but after a couple years of it I am going to be considering a master's too. I really want to get a master's degree in France. I also see it as a way to move to France. Is there an age limit for masters? I'm assuming no but somebody brought it up once and I'm curious. Also, what school did your friend go too? does this apply to other private schools in France? it sounds like a really great program. Thank you so much for making this video ! ((:

Hi Nilsa! Unfortunately after posting this I learned that you have to be living in France for one year before you're eligible for the alternance program. So I would recommend coming here as an aupair, on a tourist visa, or another visa type for one year and then doing the alternance after 🙂

@WhereTianaTravels
@WhereTianaTravels 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! To be honest most French language courses here are extremely expensive, and i don’t know of any that are 100% free, but your best bet is to look for a language course offered by the Mayor or the ‘Mairie” of your city - these courses are significantly cheaper (around €250-300 for 60 hours of lessons) but since they’re so cheap the spots fill up quickly so you have to sign up as soon as they open ! I’m not sure if you’re living in Paris but here’s a link to the language classes offered by the Mairie de Paris : cma.paris.fr/uploads/Les%20nouvelles%20formations%2021-22.pdf Hope that helps! x

Hello again, the part that I couldn't understand is, do we have to find a private school and register for it first and then check the job post specified as alternance? Because, the job posts posted as alternance/appreniceship don't explicitly offer paying tuition or they require candidates to be already registered in a master program. Didn't really understand this :/
@WhereTianaTravels
@WhereTianaTravels 9 ай бұрын
Yes, you find the school and apply for it first and then once you get accepted you will search for an alternance job (the same way you would look for a regular job). If it is listed as an alternance than yes, paying tuition is included - even if they don't list it on the posting. Hope that helps!

Hi! I'm not sure what the dap procedure is, but switching to a student visa from an aupair visa was pretty easy (take that with a grain of salt though because I still haven't received my new visa yet and I applied in August).
