As a pastor, I'm always telling people that owning a good study Bible is one of the best tools to have as you study the Bible. They are truly a huge help! If you’re not sure of which study Bible to buy, some great choices are: The ESV Study Bible, The John MacArthur Study Bible (my favorite), and The Life Application Study Bible. Thanks for the video! God bless you and all who watch!

Madame Poovie your comment shows there is a difference between the Roman Catholic faith and the Protestant faith. At least you do this as many have tried to blur the lines between both, especially since church leaders signed the 'Evangelicals and Catholics Together' (ECT) in 1994, effectively saying Catholics and Protestants believe the same things. There is a rising tide though of lay Catholics who deny this. I personally as a Protestant denied it all along and your teaching further confirms this is true. I would say that there is one church, that it has suffered much from false teaching over the last 2000 years, that we must all examine what we believe according to Scripture as you have tried to argue according to John 6. What you believe though it's not first century Christianity but a deviation from the truth, beginning probably when the Catholic Church brought in the Dark Ages around 500AD and fell further away in the darkness of men's false teaching, thinking man can be justified by his works in addition to faith in Christ. This is no different to any other cult such as Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses who sadly believe they alone have the truth. I pray that light will shine upon you as it did for previous Roman Catholics such as Martin Luther and John Calvin.

Then, their dead. They dont get tortured for eternity. That's faulse.

So often theologians go into the dynamics and want to prove how much they know about God's word. This is fine for a student in their second or third semester of bible college, but for a person that is taking a Sunday School or introduction to the bible class or just needs to get a basic understand of the bible without scaring them away, your lecture is right on point. I look forward to reviewing and integrating some of your teachings into my lectures. Thanks, Mr. C

Hi Cindy, I recommend finding a good friend in church who you see is mature, sensible and grounded in the Bible and ask them to help you in your understanding of the Bible. It's a bit like sitting next to the smart kid in class who turns up to learn and not just muck around at the back of the class. Their knowledge and understanding will rub off on you as you fellowship and learn together. I can recommend a commentary too to help you understand the Bible better. I recommend having it in print instead of only on your phone as it is less distracting in book form www.amazon.com/Believers-Bible-Commentary-William-MacDonald/dp/0718076850

I start by saying that Bible studying is not common where I leave, I watched some videos where people say that they choose the scripture to read that is releated to something they struggle with or just came into their mind. May be a silly question, but how do you know what a scripture is about (so which one to choose according to the answer you are looking for) if you have never read the Bible? That's a better way to read it instead of from the beginning to the end

@karenthompson15394 жыл бұрын
When ever you read/study the bible you must always keep it in CONTEXT in which it was written. There are three things you must always ask yourself before your reading that will help you tremendously in your understanding: 1. who wrote the book/letter? 2. who was the intended audience? Were they Jews or Gentiles? or a mixture of both? 3. what were the specific circumstances going on at the time of the writing? The vast majority of Christendom incorrectly mixes Law and Grace. They take the bible and place it in a blender and mix it (called blenderizing) then spoon feed it to their congregations. It's no wonder so many people are confused in our churches. Paul wrote to Timothy in 2 Tim Chapter two about "rightly dividing" the word of truth. That means don't mix Law and Grace. They are two different programs. The Nation of Israel was under the Law of Moses, the Body of Christ is under Grace. An example would be the letter of James. James was a Jew and in the first verse he identifies who this letter is addressed to: "The twelve tribes"....these tribes are Jews, not Gentiles. This letter is a "works" letter and it was not written to/for the Body of Christ. It was mandatory for the Jew to perform good works. It was part of their Law. As members of the Body of Christ we should be spending most of our time in Paul's letters. This is where salvation and church doctrine are found. There are actually churches out there that want nothing to do with Paul and his letters. They are missing out on Salvation. Only Paul had the revealed "mysteries" given to him by the ascended Christ and was directed to take them to the GENTILES. Paul is our, not Israel's, apostle. That also doesn't mean that we ignore the rest of the bible though. There applications that we can use. The Old Testament is about the history of the Jewish people.

What I really hope you will study is how the bible was assembled. What the world was like when these “books” were written. And who it was that decided what would be included. And maybe look into the reasons these 2 versions that you like came to be.
