How to Style A Tweed Jacket

I love my tweed jackets. Herring bone, houndstooth, donegal, even a barley corn Harris tweed. I love them all. I have them in browns, grays and even a green herring bone. I wait patiently for autumn every year to be able to wear them. They are far and away my favorite jackets.

Another good one, Chris! I have a tweed jacket in my wardrobe that I rarely wear. One because its quite thick and two, the sleeves need tailoring. But you've inspired me! I'm going to get out and to the tailors ready for the Autumn and Winter!

Good informative video. Although dress trousers (such as wool or corduroy) may be a better choice for a more formal affair, chinos, as seen in this video, are excellent choice for dress casual occasions.

I guess the points I was trying to make int this video was more about the different colour combinations, rather than the texture of this trouser materials, but I do agree with you wool or corduroy trousers would go well. 👍🙂

I personally only have a couple of tweed jackets, the most beloved being a grey-ish Donegal tweed jacket with brown elements which I personally like to pair with "colder" coloured things like a double breasted navy tweed waistcoat and grey or blue chinos - but nothing as flexible as your example here, it also goes well with colder browns but that's about it - love the houndstooth coat with it's inherent flexibility! Great video! Very sophisticated colour combinations. I've been definately inspired to find some interestign pairings in my outfits with tweeds. May I ask what brand are those cavalry twill trousers? I'm trying to find one for my self but those aren't that easy to find. Do you have some advice what could be the best source to find them?

Glad you enjoyed the video, The Cavalry twill trousers I was wearing in the video were from the company Samuel Windsor, they unfortunately don't do a clothing line anymore. But I have heard good comments about Cordings. I have no personal comments to make about them or the other company I have suggested, but I would try them if I were looking for a new pair myself. Cordings do a 100% Wool pair of Cavalry twill trousers. You're not alone my good chap. Going bespoke allows one to pick out fabric not found in off the peg menswear. The variety of Scottish, lrish, English and Italian tweeds is limitless. Find a proper tailor and you're laughing 😂🎉

@@douglasdietz7503 Great comment and as you state there are so many tweed patterns out there to choose from, the houndstooth used in the video was an Italian made cashmere jacket, they are a great choice, but if you can't buy bespoke, don't let that put you off, there are so many out there secondhand. 🙂

Great to hear Ron, I wear tweed jackets a lot, casually, they go well with jeans, chinos or other trousers so easily. You can dress the up a little bit more with a tie, cravat or even a bow tie and I regularly wear them with a waistcoat or in the cooler months with a jumper. 🙂 Thank for your valuable contribution Ron👍
