our new home possesses the most awkward little window I have ever encountered! it‘s maybe 20x20cm big and gives natural light to our guest toilet 😅 the whole thing lives in a 1970s attachment to the 1870s house and is hidden behind the toilet door until you enter, close the door and sit down, at which point you encounter the silly thing 🙈 the make-over for that space is not our top priority right now but I‘m already collecting ideas for when I get to it

I went down to the basement to create a vignette ... there is a SQUIRREL in the window well looking for a way to get in!

Now you have to get a squirrel sculpture for that window!

Oh dear, this comment reminded me of the traumatizing event of finding a very DEAD, maggot filled Squirrel Corpse in my garage a couple of years ago. It was easily the most disgusting experience of my Life removing that mess 😢

@@AvecPoesieCan relate. We have lizards 🦎 that will run right behind us when we open the front door🚪. They've scared the bejesus out of me popping out from under beds & other furnishings on more than one occasion😱. They are almost impossible to catch too, but we do our best. We found a carcass on our L/R carpet or tucked behind a sofa🤣. A couple of years ago, I was sitting on the floor & one showed up right next to me😵. I put a big empty cardboard box down on it's side. 🙏Asked God (& the reptile) to get him inside it 📦. Returned & he was sitting there, so I took him outside to a ☀️sunny spot. Luckily, that time had a good ending. 🐿 Our squirrels are smart enough to run in the opposite direction & away from the house. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

I like my shades that can either go up or down. I usually keep the tops open to allow light but I get privacy from keeping the bottoms closed. 😊

We have these egress windows in the basement and I put up floor to ceiling drapes to cover them. They are room darkening and thermal so they provide much needed privacy, temperature control and fool people into thinking the window is much larger than it actually is!

Thank you for this! A question for another video: Tiny bedroom, tiny closet. Not enough room for a full wide dresser. What say you on two tall boys instead of night stands? Sounds insane, but I think it might work if I get a headboard as tall as the tall boys and a little side-of-mattress shelf insert for my phone and glasses.
@teresacarle294
@teresacarle294 Жыл бұрын
😊Needs must. Storage is always needed in a small space👍. Your solution to 🔨add a shelf on 👓side📱 〰️& make the HB the same height as the tall boys seems rather brilliant 🎉. ⚖️ Balancing the furniture levels will make it the look like a deliberate design choice〰️& also turn the bed into quite the 👁👁focal point. It will also make the taller pair of chests seem far less visually imposing. 💪I say go for it. 😉If the shelf idea won't work, you can add a fabric pocket on a rectangular placemat or table runner to hold these items. You can 🪡sew it on the one end (or use fabric glue). 🤏Leave a slight opening on the bottom for the charging cable to slip inside🔌. Tuck the other end between your mattress & box spring to keep it securely in place. 🍀Good Luck! 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

My parents had privacy film on their bathroom window and not being able to see outside drove me nuts. We had a small bathroom and having that view blocked made me feel claustrophobic. I’m weird.

Ahh, the joys of a mid-century 'modern' tract house. 😅 I can't tell you how relieved I am that you didn't say to hang curtains all the way to the floor. 😒

Who would buy a window covering for a rental. I’ve been renting last 2.5 years after decades of owning a house. No way I’d put any money into a rental.

You'll be quite astonished at how much people put into rentals these days. Lots of renter-friendly options such as peel and stick wallpapers and tiles. My favorite rental turned proper home is Pretty in the Pines here on KZbin. Some people want an aesthetically-pleasing living environment regardless of not owning it.

My last rental had a giant window in the shower. First floor apartment. The parking lot was directly on the other side of the window. I had no choice but to spend money there, haha 😅

I’m in a rental and mounted drapery to cover the window blinds that were already provided. The drapery is thermal and they make a HUGE difference not only to our privacy but also to the utility bills that I pay! Additionally, the drapery also softens the room a bit - just the blinds made it look harsh and sterile

I’m renting and have west facing windows in my LR. Living in the hot summer desert necessitates drapes to block the blinding hot sun. I’ll take them w me when I leave so no loss.
