Been doing these for a while. You will find if you used the white vinyl they look great at first but a few months later the will become fuzzy looking. But you can solve that hut using clear 651 then you can use the white after sublimated if you need the colors to show better. I just had to redo over a dozen because the images became so fuzzy looking

What does sublimate design mean? What exactly is sublimation? In simple terms, it's a method of printing that transfers a design into a material or fabric using ink and heat. In the world of apparel, it's a game changer in that it allows whole garment prints - designs that go seam-to-seam. The sublimation name was first applied because the dye was thought to make the transition between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage.

If you wear plastic gloves when you clean the glass, you won’t leave fingerprints. Things don’t always adhere to fingerprints.

Actually the plastic gloves tend to get sticky but the old deacons white cotton gloves are great in my craft room for many things and I just wash and reuse. Great video.

Baby Oil works faster to dissolve residual adhesive from the foot tabs. Then wipe off the Baby Oil with window cleaner or rubbing alcohol.

I think the term for what you’re doing is decoupage? Sublimation is a chemistry term for when a solid substance goes to the vapor state directly without becoming liquid first.

I would like to suggest using the magic eraser sheets for your prep. They are fantastic for gooy and hard to erase substances on my pan bottoms and rust on planter bottoms. Give it a try, happy creating ❤❤❤

Great video , I’m new to your channel. I’m a little confused… someone else commented that the white 651 gets cloudy so we should use clear then white. I’m not sure if they meant to layer the two? I have never done sublimation before so this is all new to me. So I also was wondering if I’m able to print the pictures with an ink jet printer?

The image shows through because of the white vinyl allows it to show through. I use Asub 125 sublimation paper. My main printer is a Epson F170 sublimation printer. Thanks for watching!

Does that mean that part of the vinyl stays on the glass after using the heatpress with the sublimation paper and picture? Does this mean if I were to put for example 8 lines going across and then sublimated a picture ontop like you did it would only stay on the parts that had the vinyl correct? And what stays on the glass is essentially part of the coating from the vinyl?

Can you use your own handmade designs on these? Like watercolor, colored pencil, acrylics, oil paints, collages? I like these trivets/cutting boards, but as a mixed media artist, I prefer my own designs over preprinted ones. I would do this to sell also.😮

Just hand wash them with soap and water. I would not recommend putting them in a dishwasher unless you put them on the top rack furthest away from the heating element. Thanks for watching!

Are you cleaning with the Rapid Tac as well?

Can you heat press permanent vinyl for 190 seconds? It doesn't melt?

Maybe with the round cutting board set it on ur vinyl & use a marker to trace your circle?!?
