I answered in another thread. Pasted here: ** a) cut the bottle, all the way around, near the bottom. But sure, all the way around at the half way point would work. Better, really. Not much water will result. But may as well have a deeper container (the bottom half) when you harvest the water after it evaporates from the can and condenses on the inside of the bottle. (A cup rather than a shallow dish. Less spill risk.) ** b) put the can with the salt water in the bottom half of the bottle. ** c) The two halves of the bottle are the same diameter (obviously). So make a small vertical incision in either top or bottom half, at the cut. This will let you fit the edge of the top half inside the edge of the bottom half. (The "tucking".) It might work better to cut a small v shape. To let you compress the sides of the top to fit inside the bottom. ** d) with the top lip inside the bottom lip, more condensation will stay inside the bottle (not leak out the seam)

I'm just surmising here. And assuming the containers are can and water bottle, as in the video. If you cut a few inches above the bottom (with the, er...knife. Did he mention you also need a knife? No?) of the outer container ... Put the can on the bottle bottom, put the bottle top over that. Then "tuck" the edges from the top into the dish-shaped bottom (so the evaporation, when condensed, isn't lost). A short vertical incision will help top fit into bottom. Voila. But you'd need a bunch of these per person. Need a litre a day? This would ony produce an ounce or less per unit per day. = = = You could do it with no knife...with the water bottle, a good plastic bag and some string... Hell, you can do it with just a garbage bag (if it's got no holes) and a string or twist tie. Trap air. Or put that can of sea water inside to turbocharge your solar still.

Some better advice is to use like a tarp or plastic to capture condensation. Not all of us can magically fit a can into a water bottle, but the idea behind it is the same. Also, shelter should be prioritized, then water. If you can survive off a decent shelter and water, you should be fine within good time.
