Honestly, here in Brazil worms are so common everyone gets tested for them all the time, even for job contracts. Worms are easily treatable, sometime with only 1 dose of antiparasitic medication, maybe a b12 injection, but the best way is to just prevent it

a lot of lettuce patches have cow pastures next to them and sometimes the tapeworm poop juice can get onto the lettuce and you can get tapeworms and also get listeria salmonella botulism as being a vegan the fact that a lot of foods that are vegan that aren't cooked can pose a greater risk of getting these kinds of complications due to dirty growing practices in most vegetable places.
