The environment may be mostly breathable but it's very dark and foggy not to mention everything wants to eat you. The Umbarans are fantastic warriors and their unique abilities are deadly when you combine it with their highly advanced technology. Edit: you really have to overwhelm and outsmart the cunning Umbarans.

The suffocation when the masked are broken is probably a result of the drug and the sudden loss of it would cause them to die as some sort of withdrawal so you would have to slowly decrease the intake to prevent your death

The other effects I can think of consistent with the shattered faceplate behavior are the drugs being chemically affected by a molecular gas like oxygen-2, or the suits being highly pressurized to aid absorption, leading to depressurization shock, but both of those are pretty far-fetched.

It pretty much is. With all the deadly flora and fauna, Umbara basically has a jungle terrain, much like Vietnam, which is perfect for guerrilla fighters to ambush you.

I wouldn’t say the invasion was reckless or needless. Sometimes there’s no other way to land troops. Like look at the LZ, the walkers were deployed first to clear the LZ because that was the flattest area to land the gunships quickly and safely as we saw. Skywalker didn’t choose this tactic because he was careless. He chose it because it was the only option. That’s also why it was heavily defended by the umbarans.

Sadly, I was on the ground during the battle. Being part of the 212th, I was not commanded by Krell. But, during Krell,s “Suicide Cline” tactic, I was sent. I killed no one, although being wounded myself. R.I.P Sargent Waxer.

An interesting note- Since the Clone Trooper Armor was decorated in the UV spectrum of light by Kaminoans (I think), wouldn't the Umbarans be able to see that decoration? I wonder what they thought of it.

I bet the umbarans can actually see the clones even better than most do with them standing outing their bright armor. The clones' white armor was made by the kaminoans and was actually supposed to be vibrantly colored when seen in ultraviolet spectrums. Thus the clones could well be running around wearing neon armor. Or on another track maybe the kaminoans seriously did think the troops were camouflaged but it turns out their only wearing camo in ultraviolet.

Idea on why the umbarans soldiers were suffocating after they're masks were broken. It's possible that because of all the performance enhancing drugs used by their soldiers the umbaran soldiers required higher levels of oxygen to function my guess probably around 50 to 60 % of air intake had to be oxygen and thus when quickly exposed to a normal atmosphere they suffocated do to the drugs requiring their system to need more oxygen.

From what I here, piloting umbaran vehicles= the ultimate VR experience. Also, does anyone else find the term "militia" ironic and misleading? I mean, when we think of militia, we think of citizen soldiers with little or no combat experience, but the umbaran militia is anything but. The first time I was the Umbara arc, I thought they were fighting an alien colony. Aliens that looked like humans, that is. The bad thing for you; if they're injured, they may figure they have nothing left to lose and take out as many of your forces as they can. In this case, it was the opposite.
