Its insane how the interview process is nowadays just for a job that requires a double digit IQ and a triple digit income. Im in the process of starting my one business so I don’t have to worry about that mess.

love these tips, especially saying how much time/effort you are willing to give to a project during an interview process

I wish they would just be completely honest with the salary so you can tell if it’s worth the effort

Looking for a job these days is a job in itself, expression of interests, customised cover letters, keeping up to date with general or industry specific resumes that pass ATS, maintaining your online presence, spending time researching companies for the job interview process, pre screening through job agencies, keeping track of employers for future reference, knowing the current hiring trends or even asking for old style feedback

3-4 is fine. A sniff test with the head hunter - who gave me the number of steps. Interviewed the team, the CTO and then the CEO. This way I had the chance to meet the key ppl I would work with. The process made sense - for both sides.

If a company is requiring you to interview with a dozen people, over the course of many weeks, you can be certain that individuals are not empowered to make decisions and you will likely find yourself in a bureaucratic dystopia.

Honestly this should be illegal. It is unreasonable to expect this amount of free labor from people just so they can get the means to provide for themselves.

I may be old school but 2 interviews are enough. Otherwise, the HR team is merely procrastinating or not vetting the candidates through other means thoroughly enough. If you don’t know by a 2nd interview, you won’t know by a 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. interview either. It isn’t until the candidate is working in that role do you know if it was a correct hiring decision or not.

By increasing interview rounds does it end up costing companies more money? Especially if the candidate they end up hiring just moves on/quits 3 months in anyway?
