I love your enthusiasm for helping all of us find Employment the correct way. Thank you so much, hey I'm letting you know I have a job interview Friday.

Very helpful. Great tip regarding picturing yourself in the position before responding to why you want it. I agree that taking a few seconds to picture yourself in the role and enjoying it is a sure fire way to activate a genuine "twinkly eye smile." And you can't be that while interviewing. Thank you once again.

Hi Cassandra! I’ve been following your channel/LinkedIn for a while and you’re one of my go to career experts. Your advice has been tremendously helpful as I’ve navigated my job search journey. For this video, I like how you phrased the career growth limitations in the current role and what you would “get to do” in the new role desired. I hope to incorporate this advice soon.

You have to do all this and then still might not get a next interview. They expect so much from candidates.

Companies always want to know where you live before even interviewing you, so it's important to them that you live close. They ask you on the phone before even setting up an interview. Always. So that's very important to them. I just spoke to a hiring manager yesterday, and he wanted to know where I live before he would set up the interview (for tomorrow). That's typical. He also asked if I have a car - I said I don't need one, I live close, but he was making sure the commute would not be a problem. They all do that first thing.

They don’t all do that first thing. They may in your experience or the line of work you’re in but not all companies ask where you live immediately

@@CassThompsonConsulting well maybe it has something to do with living in NY. It doesn't matter what kind of work it is, they always ask. They want to know how long the commute is and if you have reliable transportation, if you take Metro North, etc. It's office jobs, no outside sales, strictly in the office. I had the interview today, and he asked again how long a commute, etc., first question.

I’ve almost never been asked where I live and I’ve had dozens of interviews 🤷🏼♀️

@@Lisstarine I don't suppose you live in NY, or your experience would be different. Saying it doesn't happen wherever you are, doesn't change the fact that it happens here. Probably wherever you live everyone drives, unlike here.

@@katgirlblueWell, to be fair, you started off by saying companies always want to know where you live before setting up an interview, not companies want to know where you live before setting up an interview in NY. Likewise, saying it happens where you live doesn't mean it happens everywhere.
