Water on board is actually safe to consume. Water tanks are sanitized on regular basis. If you drink coffee or tea on board, it is usually made with the on board water. Had the pleasure to work for the airlines for a year and it gave me an appreciation for the care the airlines take to ensure we have safe and clean airplanes to travel in. Love your videos man!

To be fair, when boiled, unsafe water becomes safe, so the fact that they serve tea and coffee with the water from the plane doesn't really make a difference.

@@SophieJackson1993 I wanted to say the exact same thing! It may be safe, but they don't clean the utensils properly, so it's generally dirty. It's the same at conference centers and hotels (especially the kettles in the rooms!). I was once told not to wash jugs once because they contained water. Pardon? They've been sat there, accumulating dust and dirt and you really don't know what people have done with stuff. He also said in the video, out of the tap. Which is true, as the plane itself says this is not drinking water.
@coopapalooza11 ай бұрын
Potable water is pumped in at each stop so the water itself is fresh but the tank it’s stored in is chemically disinfected only every few months. So it’s basically an informed decision. I have no problem with hot drinks onboard but wouldn’t dream of drinking it from a/c faucets.

Hi Noel, I did this flight in Premium Economy on the A350 ULR and even that was pretty good. If you are going to take this flight in Premium Economy, try to get the couple of seats that are on their own at the back of the cabin - you get a large storage box next to your seat (since there isn't enough room for a second seat between the isle and window) which you can use for some extra desk/tray space. I'd happily fly that route again in PE (but I'll certainly be looking for the BC deals you mentioned!)

It's supposedly safe to drink potable water on a plane, at least on our aircraft (British, orange). Samples are regularly taken for analysis. But considering we're technically authorised to uplift water in places like Egypt, then I'd stay well away from it. Treat yourself to a bottle of Highland Spring. The crew only drink it in hot drinks if it's been boiled first. Also don't forget different aircraft do different routes each day. So don't assume that because you're on a domestic route from London - Belfast, that the water in the tanks was from either there. It could have been to Egypt the day before. Fantastic videos as always Noel. I hope to have you as a passenger on my plane one day.

We took this flight (actually the one EWR-SIN-EWR return) before Covid in the cheap seats, premium economy. While you don't get a lie-flat bed and service levels are definitely lower than in business class, the flight was surprisingly comfortable. Lots of choices on the inflight entertainment, and the "book a cook" meals were certainly up to standard, and I certainly could doze off enough not to be totally wrecked by the time we arrived. Obviously Noel got a great deal on business class, but I think we paid about that amount for the seats in the back, and felt it was overall good value.

Keep the vids coming, Noel! FYI the potable water protocol can vary by nationality, sadly. In the US, the FDA requires airlines to adhere to sanitation standards, but little oversight is given. Having said that, I have worked for two major airlines in a capacity involving potable water service and training of personnel in proper procedures. And I can say that from my perspective, the water is safe. In both cases, the potable water systems are flushed and sanitized with a proper sanitizing solution on regular maintenance intervals by A&P technicians. The weak link is the employee or contractor who refills the tank in between flights. But even then, that person would have to be grossly incompetent and make an extra effort to introduce contamination. Long story short, it’s possible to ingest contaminated water from an airplane’s potable water source, but it’s extremely unlikely. And as someone who has trained personnel in proper potable water procedures - and has witnessed the *actual* procedures - I drink the coffee on a regular basis.

Actually, the shortest possible route (great-circle distance) from Singapore to New York is due north over Thailand, China, and Siberia until the Arctic Ocean, then crossing it almost above the North Pole until reaching Greenland on the other side and finally coming down south over Quebec to New York. However, more often than not the flight will follow the eastbound route you followed to get a little helping push from the jet stream, which nearly always blows eastward at middle latitudes. For the same reason, the return flight is also eastbound, over the Atlantic, Europe, the Middle East, and India. So, the two flights literally go around the world just to save fuel with the jet stream.

I can’t quite tell what website he is referring to for the flight deal website. I have been to 48 states, once I get to the last two I plan to start traveling Internationally and need to find some cheap ways to get around.

Looking thru the transcript I think Noel referenced the App Flyertalk.

28:00 This is north of the boundaries of Toronto. That bendy part in the highway (Hwy. 407) is a hood called Bayview Glen. Further up the highway you see a perpendicular road intersecting which is Hwy 404. A little north (to the left) from the intersection is Buttonville municipal airport. Center picture, where the land. looks most dense, is an industrial park in Markham, Ontario, coincidentally where exists one of North America's largest Asian populations. Under the place where the time is shown on the video is Dr. Roberta Bondar Public School, named after Canada's first female astronaut and first neurologist in Space. So, overall, a nice catch for a shot from 40,000 ft.

The pedal to open the trash in the lavatory is really cool and a much needed update. But please wear at least slippers when going to the loo. The floor is always really nasty in there..

New drinking game. Take a drink every time Noel says 18 hours :D
@trilexfix Жыл бұрын
18 hours is a crazy long flight holy crap!!! The longest flight I been on was 14 hours and some change from Seattle to Hong Kong and I was happier doing it last time from LA to Taiwan, which is a little shorter.

Thanks Noel!!! Have always wanted to try this flight. Living in Brooklyn I can easily get to JFK. Gotta visit a friend over in Indonesia. Have also seen many cheap fares in business class on this one too.

Hi Noel. What was the name of the web-site that you used to book this flight ? Name of the web-site wasn't too clear from the VDO. Great VDO by the way 👍👍 Always great service with SQ Business Class 👍👍✈✈
