Summary - if you set up a "Performance" of 16 "Parts" (sounds, patches) that you want available for a particular song (or gig), and enter "part select", you can then move among the parts with single button pushes (the category buttons change from categories to Part selection) without the sound engine cutting off when you change. This appears to be how Yamaha intended the board to be organized and used. I would have been nice if they put the numbers 1 - 16 on the buttons for identification on the fly. But if you switch between performances to change your sound, the sound engine stops. So change performances between songs!

In my yamaha mx61 isn`t possible "Direct Select" to switch on. I did accuraly the exact like you in tutorial showed.

maynbe you have the old version of mx. You can upgrade to this version by visiting yamaha website check firmware for mx series.

Thanks for your time! I have the Yamaha B.O.M.E, essentials saved in preset 1. Now for a quick save of a patch, I can save in a different number and be able to jump to it while playing?

I don’t understand your question. What is yamaha b.o.m.e? Don’t you have a yamaha mx61? All 128 perf of mx61 is savable, you can edit and override it with “STORE” button.

@@veiledvisionaries Yes, each performance you can have up to 16 sounds and you can pick it during your live performance.

great question, the on/off AutoKeyOnStart in [PATTERN]. Press [PATTERN] -> Edit -> scroll until you see AutoKeyOnStart, then select dial ON or Off. Finally, press [STORE] to save permanently to the performance.

Hi mate. Does anyone know how to adjust the factory vibrato, which brings out the Transverse Flute sound of the Yamaha MX? I have moved several parameters but nothing happens. Greetings

@@wladitenorsax1448 the vibrato is sample based, you can not adjust it, however there are some non-vivrato flute sample in MX. you can program it with John Melas app that is paid app.

Hello my dude. I was thinking of buying one of these to go with an rc-202 and was wondering if I’d be able to switch through sounds quickly instead of scrolling. I’m pretty sure this video answers that question. So you can assign sounds to those buttons and quickly skip between each one?

Yes! With the method in the video you can jump 16 patches without scrolling.

@@JazMystic1 with RC-202, you can create a performance called RC-202 with 16 voices (each part) then while recording the loop just select from 1-16 voice .... without touching scroll dial.

I strongly suggest before jumping into all these changes and to avoid saving sounds but not necessarily changing your performances, get yourself a memory stick 🙄

not nessesary! you can reload your stock/default performances at anytime with reload option on.

@@mdmusiz I'm talking about performances. If you reset you're going to lose all your changes That's where the memory stick comes in 🙄 Also resetting only sets the sounds back to factory not the performances.
