In a multicam shoot with separate audio recording, You may have to change synchronization dependent upon camera and microphone location. There is approximately 1 milisecond difference per foot between the camera microphone and the audio recording system. This must also be accounted for between the cameras. I commonly use two two cameras and a digital audio recording system recording stage plays and concerts. My microphones may be flown about 15 feet from the stage, one camera 30 feet from the stage and the second camera 60 feet from the stage. If I use audio for synchronization, I have to compensate for all of those differences, so I have to advance the microphones by 15ms, the 30 foot camera by 30ms and the distant camera by 60ms for the video to match the stage performance.

The key shortcuts with the "ctrl + ," and "ctrl + ." are cluch. This is really a feature that we should see FCP handle with AI now. No reason why we can't match audio with a menu option "Synchronize clips" or w/e Anyhow, thanks a million for those shortcuts

You're welcome. There's a match audio option under the Magic Wand pop-up menu.

I think you can. If you can't match audio of just audio tracks, you can always turn down the opacity of a video clip.

@@StupidRaisins hmmm, it seemed lke it merges clips etc all I want it to do is matchup different video/ audio clips so I can show multiple cam views. After matching the audio I would delete the audio and keep the video lol

I canʻt believe it was so easy to do! Apparently this syncs up my audio that is recorded at 30fps and my video that is 59.94fps or audio at 30fps and video at 29.97fps. Thank you so much! You are awesome! I struggled at manually syncing them and cutting the video clip every so often and having to readjust it through out the whole video.

Hi, I have 10.8 running on a Mac Sonoma 14.5 and when I try to advance the clip or reverse it to align with audio and I press option with . or , it doesn't move and I get a beep sound each time. Can anyone help me figure out why and what I need to do? Thanks!

@@StupidRaisins I figured it out, I tried the focus effects to blur people in the background and focus on me but it change the audio and the video. My voice wasn’t synced with the video. So I played around with the clips and noticed without the focus effects the video and audio wasn’t disturbed. So I decided to remove the focus effects and go with the censor effect instead. Having said that, I wonder why focus effects slowed the video as I rather blur the background.

how would you do this if you already have multiple clips and audio imported? this only seems to make sense if you have a singular audio and video imported

You can select all your clips and sync them.
