Use these set lenses. sigma 30mm f1. 4, canon 55-200mm and the canon 28mm macro. Ideaal combination. Only downside is that the 55-200mm needs always two stops + compensation in light and has severe vigneting going on, but can be solved in light room. One remark the 55-200mm lens has a insane stability feature. You can go up to 1/20 shutter speed and get still sharp pictures.

For a beginner in photography which is better to start? Sony apsc or Canon apsc? People have said to me everything, that Canon is better for photos and Sony for video, that long term Canon is cheaper because EF lenses, that Sony is better because there are a lot of E mount lenses, that Canon colors, Sony dynamic range, etc... I will take a photography course and if I can stick with the hobby maybe will go for a full frame camera, so for me the long term upgrade is important. I think about a very cheap Sony Nex 5r (or A6000) with Yongnuo 50mm 1.8 and kit lens or Canon M200 (or M50) with kit and EF adapter with 50mm 1.8, 40mm 2.8 and other cheap lenses. What do you think? Sony or Canon?
@FulaanCreative2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a tough one. I am a cannon shooter that also wants to buy a sony so the answer is not that easy. What I can say is that if budget is a factor then you can't go wrong with the m50.

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! I got this camera really to improve my photo abilities and I've been annoying my wife taking so many pictures in manual mode just experimenting with different settings of the exposure triangle. I've taken some very interesting shots just playing with the light. The auto focus can be a little aggravating focusing on objects just in the fore or background of my subject.

program mode is far from useless, say you want a specific aperture, it then will alter your shutter speed based on that to get the perfect exposure or the other way around, set your own shutter speed and let it take over the aperture for you you can also set the iso, and ofc the exposure triangle, and the camera will just handle everything that you don't really care about for your scene obviously when you're doing landscape or something that doesn't move, manual is king, but for portraits, animal, sports, etc, it's a lifesaver, keep your aperture open for portraits and let it do the rest, or lock your shutter speed high for sports and wildlife and let it handle aperture
@FulaanCreative Жыл бұрын
It seemed to me like it was just another way to cycle between aperture priority, shutter priority and auto ISO w/out having to change the mode on the dial. Maybe I am missing something though.
@tysa7443 Жыл бұрын
@@FulaanCreative well it's just all 3 into one, except you can have 2 at the same time, you can control iso and shutter, or iso and aperture is it really necessary? probably not xd but I use it more than any other mode because I do a lot of portrait sessions and street photography, and it just makes everything so so much faster, no messing around with dials because I already have my aperture to open, all I have to do is point, pick an ISO, and shoot, it's also good for night photography because I can just set my iso to 3k, aperture to 2.4, and I set the exposure to -0.25, it'll then just pick the perfect shutter speed for me (usually fast enough for perfect and clean shots) very long answer but I just love and live for program mode lmao
@FulaanCreative Жыл бұрын

Choose high or low depending on the speed you want. Now just take photos, when you have your focus, hood down the shutter button and it will take continuous shots. Or go to menu, page 1,go down to drive mode then select high or low continuous

@FulaanCreative Жыл бұрын
Yes the Sigma needs an EF to RF adapter. Once you have the adapter you could use the EF 50mm f1.8, The Sigma 18-35, and for a zoom the Tamrom 24-70 would be great. Some are very large lenses on a small body like the m50 but would work none the less.

You are welcome. I've used that combo for a few years and there is a little wiggle but mine never got worse. About a year ago I switched to the Meike EFT-M drop in variable ND filter adapter. That one is much better as it also gives you built in ND for all your EF and EF-s lenses.

thank you Fulaan ... I have just bought a M50 Mark II - mainly for use of videoing school assemblies, functions etc., where the kids seem to think they have GOT to have the place in darkness - therefore, very hard to photograph or video. I have a 55-200 mm lens as well so what settings are best for this scenario? I realise I need to open it right up to get more light. thanks
@FulaanCreative2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. Yes, opening up the aperture all the way will help but there really isn't any real substitute for shooting with more light. I recommend the Godox sl-60w for people that are on a tight budget and the Amaran 100d for those with a slightly higher budget.
@Chriskimp2 жыл бұрын
Been iffy about getting the M50ii I got a Sony a6000 and I thought it worked well but I felt canon was better when it comes to keeping color in whatever I’m shooting. But you definitely helped me in my decision lol.

Great video man. Need a little advice. I want to get into mirrorless but on a budget right now. Was considering the M series but everyone's saying the EF-M mount is not the way to go since its limited and Canon will be focusing on the RF mount so its not a very future proof system to get into. What do you recommend?
@FulaanCreative2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes it's true but the thing is that there are more EF & EF-s lensees out there than any other lens mount and you can use those lenses with the M cameras with a simple and cheap adapter. So If you are on a very tight budget the M50 is still amazing value for money. If you have a little more to spend the Sony ZVE-10 and Canon R10 are also very capable and at an entry level price.
@OverlyCuriousEngineer2 жыл бұрын
@@FulaanCreative Thats a good point. Would you recommend for my user case scenario? I want the camera mainly for street, landscape, nature, portraits and a bit of night photography. Does the M50 fit in this role well? Can i build a good kit to keep for the next 4 to 5 years?
@FulaanCreative2 жыл бұрын
@@OverlyCuriousEngineer Yes but If you can afford it the R10 is a better choice.

Your future is safe with the LOADS of ef and ef-s lenses out there like said. And I even heard of a way to use Canon's legendary L series lenes. Have to study up on that one though.

what is the compatible lens for EF-M mount vs EF-S mount? for example: EF-S 18-55/ 50/ 10-22/ 55-200mm?
@FulaanCreative2 жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand your question correctly but I'll try to answer from a few different angles. EF-M and EF-s are both APS-C lenses. EF are full frame lenses. With an adapter you can use both EF-s and EF lenses on the m50. So the Ef-s equivalent to a EF-m 50mm is a EF-s 50mm because they are both APS-C lenses. To find the EF equivalent you would simply multiply the focal length of an EF-m or EF-s lens by 1.6x that would give you the full frame equivalent. So a 50 mm Ef-s or EF-m lens is really going to give you about an 80mm field of view (50 x 1.6). So the closest EF equivalent would be the EF 85mm. Hope that answers your question.

Could you give me the best iso, aperture, shutter examples for video basketball and baseball
@FulaanCreative2 жыл бұрын
Depends how much light is available. If you could stick to 400 iso max, leave the aperture wide open and keep your shutter between 1/250 to 1/1000 that would produce some cool results.
