Maybe if someone has a very large collection and hasn't any room. Store part of your collection and once in a while (maybe change of season) rotate so your collection is fresh.

Great tips, I'd like to add one more, learn when to stop collecting, for me it's when, I stop feeling good about adding something new to my collection.

Before anything else, I want to say that I love your scarf/shawl! It looks so pretty! I have stored some of my non-AG dolls in storage bins to make room for my AG dolls. Fingers crossed I will have more room in the future so I can display them again.

Cool video, but I'm not into large dolls. I'm one of those action figures, mecha and fashion dolls, mostly Monster High and Ever After High (second hand), mostly get only what I like and not completing collections.

Focusing on completing a collection can be tricky sometimes because they always release new dolls, so your strategy sounds like a good one!

Hi Sophia. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful tips. You have a beautiful collection. I appreciate your comment about having other hobbies. I have several hobbies but they all seem to be connected. Doll collecting, crafting, Restoring dolls, editing and re-selling. It’s fun to have different related things to work on and of course I always enjoy meeting people in my hobby to chat about dolls! 😄💕

There’s some fantastic advice in here! One extra thing I would add is to periodically put away into storage a part of your collection (this allows you to rotate displays etc) and when you pull the storage bin back out see if there are any dolls that you didn’t think of at all and consider donating/ selling them. I’ve done this since childhood and it makes it much easier to tell how attached I am to something and makes downsizing much easier!
