Nice Tips, I have tips also: (I do not own a dog) 1. Duct tape a THICK towel to your dog's bed. When accidents occur, peel off the tape, and disinfect and wash your towel. Wash the towel ALONE, so that if the towel still smells bad afterwards, your clothes won't smell bad. 2. Duct tape a towel to the floor of the crate, so it feels like a carpet to your dog. This will also help with accidents. Also so your dog wont slide around on the wooden floor, and hurt it self. 3. Get a crate large enough, so when your dog is full sized, you won't have to spend money to buy a new crate. 4. Place (quiet) chew toys, a water bowl (with water in it) inside your dogs crate at night so it has something to do. 5. Take your dog to the bathroom, at these times: When the dog wakes up; Before it sleeps; After lunch; After dinner; After and before swimming; After lot's of treats. So 4-10 times a day. (I know, a lot of times) 6. Exercise a puppy 30mins-1hr. Exercise an adult puppy 1hr-2hrs. Thank you!

Don't give a dog water 2 1/2 before bedtime or they will have to urinate. So putting water into the crate is a bad idea. But a Kong with some frozen peanut butter inside is a great idea as a distraction! :D

You shouldn't put the dog's name on the ID tag. If they were to be stolen, a stranger could easily just check the dog's name and prove it's theirs by calling it over when asked. Best to put your own surname on the ID tag.

That only happens when the dog is friendly to the person that stole him. Most of the time, dogs will try to run away or bite the person that stole him, to try and get back with their original owner. Its called loyalty. Sorry if I sounded rude :)

Puppy Luv it's okay, you didn't sound rude :) I get what you're saying and in theory, you'd think that's how your dog would react. But I know my dogs just love everybody, even when I'm around or even when I'm not. Somebody could easily take a friendly dog if they came near them by just snapping a lead on them and leading them away with treats.

There's no problem putting the dogs name on the ID tag, Just put your own name and number on the tag, if the dog is ever stolen and someone wants to call the person out on it, all they have to do is call the number. also most puppies ( if they come from a responsible breeder ) will be microchipped which has the owners and the breeders information on it and can be checked very easily by a machine.

I remember when I got my dog Karma (she's 4 now) and she came on West Jet. My other dog, Casper, (he's 8 now) also came on West Jet and he was terrified when we tried to let him out of the crate. So when Karma came, we opened the crate to see her and she just ran out onto the grass to pee. On the ride home, Karma loved the car, and she still does. This video is great because we got Karma on August 8th, and this video was posted July 8th, so its perfect timing :) Thanks for all these tips, they really helped with training and raising Karma.

+Angelina Choi If you don't already know how to clip a dog's nails, or you don't feel your puppy will sit still while you cut them, then GET A GROMMER OR VET TO DO IT!!!! If you don't know how to do it, it means you will go slower, and the dogs sometimes panic. Puppies nails are smaller, and if you hit the quick, he/she may not trust anyone who wants to touch their paws unless they are reintroduced to the clippers afterwards, meaning you can tramuatise a puppy for it's entire life on a stupid, money saving thing like this.

Yeah that's really weird. I'd say just get something easy to clean (fleece blankets are wonderful for comfort and cleaning) and clean it thoroughly when accidents happen. If any scent remains the dog will keep peeing on it since they marked it, but washing it should take care of this.

Depends on the size you're after and what sort of activities you like to do. Are you a really active person or a laid back person? Whatever you do the most your dog will probably want to do as well. There exists a questionnaire over on animal planet. com that will match your temperament with a dog that could match you. Such questions as "How much time are you willing to spend grooming the dog?" or "How much time are you willing to spend walking the dog." or even "What kind of temperatures will the dog be exposed to?"

Just pointing out, you shouldn't be putting your dogs name onto the ID tag on your dog, as it can help people to claim or steal a dog that isn't theirs. Contact details are still a must, along with an up to date microchip

That exists. There are horses that wear glasses. Animals can still get plaque even when they're given dental chews or had teeth cleaning chemicals added to their water. A lot of dogs actually like to have their teeth brushed and you can find liver flavored toothpaste just for dogs.
