Mine is 1 year and 2 months old. It grew very leggy as it aged with only a couple leaves on a stalk. Needs to be watered almost daily or the edges of the leaves get crispy and brown. Also likes humidity so I put it in the bathroom.

You have taken very good care of your zebra plant. I water mine a couple times a week currently in the winter time. Your plant is very vibrant and healthy. do you keep your plant in the kitchen? I would like to see the natural lighting that you give it. Mine is in a south-facing window and gets full sun.

A light mist from a humidifier would be very helpful. The moisture can help keep the leaves from drying out. 😊

Hello. Do you have an update on your zebra plant ? Would like to know how it fared through the past few years, and if you have gained any new insights. 😊
@DonnaJoshi Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for visiting. I did give away alot of my plants when I got covid. I was quite sick and unfortunately for a while I couldn't take care of them. I have recovered quite a bit and am always ready to answer any questions. I found a few important details about the zebra plant. This is just my experience with my zebra plant. The zebra plant is a bit finicky so, be sure not to overwater. In an approximate 6 inch pot I would be sure to give really good indirect sunlight. Avoid drafts and don't move the plant around. Just leave it put. Water only approximately 1/4 cup water weekly. It doesn't like standing water. I noticed it can get root rot pretty easily. Good luck with your plant and keep me posted. Remember you only fail if you give up and you can always try again if it doesn't work out but,...it will! :)

Hello, may I ask where you got your zebra plant? I live in Wisconsin and ordered two zebra plants online. I water regularly, have never had them droop, and maintain 60-65% humidity. However the lower leaves are dropping on both plants. Not sure what I am doing wrong. It may be too cool in my home, temp 60 - 64. Any help is appreciated.
@DonnaJoshi11 ай бұрын
It's possible to be overwatering. Also, be careful of drafts. I got my plant from a private local nursery.

Thanks for tips. How do you know when to water it? Is it when top inch of soil is dry or when it is still moist but dried a little? How often in a week do you usually water it in growing season vs. winter?

I found this plant likes a small amount of water weekly. On a plant this size I water approximately 1/3 cup weekly at most. :)

It's fall now and I would like to be able to keep them healthy. Thanks!

I propagated mine in water and it is doing great now. I let the cuttings dry out for 2 days before putting it in water. Make sure you change the water every few days. Roots grew very quickly so once the roots got about 2-3 inches long I planted them in soil. Good luck 👍🏽
