Mirlax really does work. My 8 year old was premie, had a lot of issues. Her intestine was twisted, had a bowel infraction. Could not poop for days. She had Surery and a week hospital stay. Now use mirlax daily, and goes each day like clock work. It really helps her. No belly pain, hard stools, none of that.

I take 1/2 cap each day of Miralax + one little red gel capsule of Ducolax and a teaspoon of Unifiber. Adding Unifiber was for me the best. 50% of movements are natural, and 50% are required with an enema. For me, that is okay. If I take a full cap of Miralax, I get diahhrea. I had to stop Metamucil a few years back - creating way too many problems for me. Oh, I'm 80yo.

My recent colonoscopy, for the prep, I had to do two small bottles of Miralax plus take laxatives. Yes, I was cleaned out! I have taken Miralax for years because constipation has been a long time problem for me. Lately I have been taking several stool softeners each day and that seems to keep me pretty normal. I was told (also had an endoscopy when I had the colonoscopy) that I have a big hiatal hernia. I read up on the hiatal hernia and it said that when you strain for bowel movements it actually can enlarge a hiatal hernia! Never knew that! No wonder I have a big hiatal hernia! Constipation is horrible!!!

what one needs is to take the bowel prep in stages until one sees IN BOWL that it is clear water. these jerks generally over prescribe for THEIR CONVENIENCE assuming a certain number of people will not comply to point i describe. for the one colonoscopy i had years ago i took half of what he recommended and when I saw it was clear stopped as it can lead to episode of dehydration get the hiatal hernia fixed it is NO big deal these days done with a serious of very small incisions on abdomen very quick recovery. you need to find a solution of a non drug source if you need to take stool softener daily. chemical overload If you need to lose weight and try paleo or auto immune diet it should turn the trick up to and including resolving hemorrhoids if they are present. will be last to subside but they will.

why are you having a colonoscopy ? there is COLOGUARD which accurately identifies cancer in intestine much more accurately than the FDA would clear it for. If a colorguard tested postive it is the ONLY legitimate reason to proceed to invasive colonoscopy. Make your "doctor" if that is what is he explain why this is necessary; You can talk back t them rachel they work for you and should understand that. Hope all works out good luck

I have done that off and on for years with success but still get really hard stool section right at the exit. It is very difficult to get the plug out but then the bulk seems normal. Antibiotics wreak havoc on your gut microbiome. Do not use unless absolutely necessary. They kill all the bacteria in your digestive tract, both good and bad. It can take a year of careful work to rebuild your gut after an 8 week course of antibiotics. You need to design a good restorative diet to replace the good bacteria. You have a lot of research to do.

Thank you so much for this! I just saw my Gastroenterologist and she is great but I never really understood how to use Miralax and the difference between Miralax and Metamucil. I am going back to my routine of Pontoprazole, Famotidine,Miralax, docusate and Bentyl after trying to go natural with only IBguard! I’m back to the meds after a terrible IBS flare that is lasting almost two weeks! Thanks again!

I was born I think with constipation my mother said she had to use suppositories on me even as a baby I just wouldn't poop. And I still have chronic constipation as a 67 year old woman I've tried everything! So I take two stool softeners in the morning with breakfast I drink a ton of water during the day I eat prunes, I also drink a glass of prune juice everyday. But after 3 and 4 days of not going I look bloated I feel sluggish so I have to take an over-the-counter laxative it just seems to be a routine in life now. So now I find out that a study was done on people who regularly use laxatives and they're more likely to develop dementia. Well I watched my mother go through dementia I never want to burden anyone with that. So once again I'm trying natural things like I did 100 times before. And now I'm scared to use the laxatives. What to do what to do what to do.

Great timing for this video. Dealing with hemmorroids, miralax is truly a life saver. U mentioned that miralax is a "synthetic chemical thats not found in nature". That being said, i know u mentioned miralax can be potentially taken the rest of your life, but even i worry sometimes what kind of unnatural chemicals i put in my body. So i always have my doubts. But i trust your word doc, miralax cant be absorbed into the body, and i cannot develop intolerance. Thanks for the info!

I’m pretty much that person you described, I’ve tried everything nothing works. I hydrate properly with magnesium and potassium and sodium and chloride eat the right fibers in the right combinations, and I stopped eating, processed foods and had great results with everything else. I’ve cured my heart disease, liver dysfunction, my thyroid that I lost a lot of weight. I’m off all my medication’s, but this is the one thing I can’t fix. Michael and just doesn’t keep enough fluid in there even with increasing soluble fiber. I took it at first according to the directions and it made a difference but I didn’t wanna keep taking that much on a regular basis so what I do is I just sprinkle a little in my water throughout the day as I’m drinking and probably only take half a cup a day, and I try to take it when I eat, I only eat twice a day and get most of my vegetables and fiber in my first meal, so I make sure I get it then and that’s worked out great. When I back off and try to wean myself off of it Though, I still have constipation issues. I’m guessing it will take more time for my gut biome to fix itself, I’m not sure I ferment vegetables and eat the correct pre-biotics and hydrate properly and I’ve studied it up and down inside out and backwards, and I don’t know what else to do so I take the MiraLAX. At this point, I keep taking it to be functional and it’s working and of course my doctor is pretty much clueless, as are most doctors to be honest and they love drugs and medication. I personally would like to not have to take it, but I don’t know what else to do to try and fix the problem I’m guessing just after decades of having the problem and eating garbage, and not taking care of myself, I’ve just had a leaky gut and other issues that will just take time to resolve and hopefully they will but until then, this keeps me functional, I take small amounts, especially with high fiber meals and probably only do half a cup a day I would guess maybe less but I’d like to get off of it someday completely.

@@vemver4146 that’s because we live in a world where the pharmaceutical industry wants to keep a sick food industry sells is garbage in the medical industry they created doesn’t help us they sell drugs. Nobody understands health anymore, and when people are out there, trying to tell the truth about health theiir attacked by the system, because the truth is if they taught real health in junior high and high school and people eat correctly, you would eliminate 95% of the pharmaceutical and medical industry because they wouldn’t be needed, and the process food industry would be almost completely shut down because it’s all garbage even that marketed as health food. We’re ruining our bodies I think because we don’t have healthy food or water, and those destroying it created a medical industry in a pharmaceutical industry to pretend they cared about our health when all they’re doing is increasing their profit margins off of our illness that they created in the first place. People need to figure it out for themselves and modicum, because no one in government, or the medical industry is trying to help you and the few who have tried her being attacked by those industries in their dollars because their advice would destroy those industries that profit from our illness

I have had anal fissures. Miralax was recommended by my doctor. I started with half a cap of a generic and went with that for about 4 or 5 days along with about a pint more water per day. I saw no improvement or really, any changes of any kind. I then went to a full cap, once a day, in early afternoon. About 2 or 3 days later I had my first pain-free, blood-free BM in about 6 weeks. Nothing else changed in that I still went at the same time[s] with what looked like the same consistency of BM. I have to say that the Miralax did the job although it almost seems that the improvement would have happened anyway given nothing seemed to change. I did have one minor setback a few days ago with some slight pain/bleeding, but the next day everything seemed to be on track. I take the generic Miralax every day and I might well be taking it once a day forever.

Macrogol is (miralax) is a chemical that goes down the track with the rest of the stuff in your bowels. What I found to work for me, when I have issues. I take part of my daily miralax with every major meal I eat. So, I split my daily 3/4 of cap or 12 grams between my three meals. This keeps my product more consistent (good for fissures). If I take the whole daily batch at one time the result is that some of the product is hard (painful) while part of the product sometimes is a bit too soft (painful too). One diet tip that works for me: If I eat fresh orange fruit, the pulp/flesh actually works for me even without miralax - it makes the "product" soft and slippery and super easy to pass. May not work for all. however, it's a lot of fructose, and some people can also have issues with eating any orange. If I eat one orange per day - half in the morning and half in the evening - it really helps me ... works better for me than those fiber supplements that I have tried.

IT WORKS. As someone in palliative care, I have been on Hydromorohone and now the Fentanyl patch. Two days ago I experienced fecal impaction. Had to do the scissor finger and eventually glycerin enema (which helped me pass a baseball sized chunk of stool.). Still…. It’s the mental scarring effect of it happening again, so I wanted something “mild” and took PEG 3350. Since I did a few small (somewhat firm stools) but about 36 hours of the Miralax I emptied my bowels with a nice combination of firm and liquid. I recommend Milk of Magnesia (which DOES work but it can be painful leading up to the BM) but more do recommend Miralax as it just works. Best of luck to all.
