I have a tip for textbook reading as well! A lot of people will "read" through their textbooks and highlight key information. However, most of the time the keywords are already bolded and it's been proven that it doesn't actually help. In addition to (preferably before) taking your notes, read through the material and after every section/paragraph, write the main idea and summary of the information in your own words on a post-it note, then stick that in your book! When you finish the chapter, take notes on the summaries to reiterate the information in your brain, helping you to remember. This has helped me tremendously for anatomy and physiology, and I HIGHLY recommend it!
@aricarly6 жыл бұрын
+Lily Graham I support this tip! It's really useful and helps to retain a lot of information, I used to do one post-it note for every page, and stick it on top, and after I did it, I typed a summary, with added pictures from the web (I used this method for all my Art/Architecture History classes in university, and passed every single one with an A). I also recommend it a lot, to me it is the best method I've ever used for textbooks.

I’m in anatomy and physiology right now and we mostly have to teach the info to ourselves, so I’ll definitely try this out!
@lilygraham31296 жыл бұрын
Me too! It's such a difficult class and it doesn't help that it feels mostly self-taught. I have an exam Monday on 3 chapters, and this method has helped me SO much! I highly recommend it. :)

I haven't tried typing it out and adding pictures! I'll definetly try that out as well. :)

I used to think my notes were supposed to be “aesthetic” and super neat, but I realize now that that’s not what is important, because it takes up way too much time. As long as you write down the important stuff and can read your handwriting, and can understand what is being said, then you’re ready to study.

If your teacher uses slides and it's available for you to access, it helps to either print them out or write them out before your class and then in class you can just focus on writing down the important information that wasnt on the slides! In college we are usually given a little textbook made specifically for each specific subject, but professors still encourage us to study from different books too. My problem is I never know how to add on the information from the other books lol. Sometimes different books will say the same thing as out guide textbook but with a different vocabulary and I just don't know how to integrate it

What I always do, and am more enthousiastic about, is making notes of the slides (when I'm at home). And when I'm 2 weeks before a test I take the textbook and add information that is "missing". So you actually study the information twice 😀 btw love your channel, new sub ❤

I am a freshman and still learning some study methods, but what I started to do is read the objective learnings, or the main questions given at the end of the chapter. Then go back read the book and in the mean time highlight the main concepts or general facts and ideas. I write a little post it tag on the top as a summary of less than a sentence. And at the same time write down the information on Remnote (as possible questions so later I can memorize it quicker). Still working on it, but helped me a lot for Psychology!
