this may not help but I thought I should add: when i do problems on my own in class and get them wrong (conceptually not computationally) i like to keep the wrong math (instead of whiting out) and write in the correct math with a different color while pointing out mistakes and giving explanations as to why something is wrong and what you are supposed to do instead. This helps me prevent making the same mistake again and it helps me understand the concepts better. Might not be helpful for you but, once again, just thought i might add. 💜

@stephy22235 жыл бұрын
@@abyz9774 I think the way you start loving math is by being good at it and doing you're work right. I'd say doing a few math problems every single day until you finally do it right is going to help. Also when you get a problem wrong, try and go through it again step by step (With the answer) and ask yourself why is it like that (In that case the reason could be because of a rule the math problem has). If you still don't understand the question, try asking someone for help. When you fully understand what the hell you're doing, that's when you are doing it right.

You should listen to the teacher when explaining so that you can write it on your own later or borrow notes You shouldn't be wasting time in notes when teacher is explaining cause teacher explain the best to the whole class in detail but when they are explaining you alone they complete it in short cause they dont have time So LISTEN TO THE TEACHER Edit:- And you shouldn't white out your mistakes You should point them out with a different coloured pen and see what went wrong so that later on when you look at them you will know what were your mistakes Don't hide your mistakes,instead work them out and learn from them! The people who are obsessed with only the pretty notes,they focus more on the notes rather than the matter so don't be one of them! Notes are there just for the reference so that later on you can revise in short Don't waste your time on something which will give you nothing..

For me it is not always so easy. If the teacher explains a difficult subject, which i don't understand in the beginning, i often forget what the teacher has said when i return home. And then, when i want to write notes, i become frustrated because i cant remember what the teacher said. If i understand a subject then that is no problem. I know that i could look the subject up on the internet but i don't want to do that because i don't know which sites tell the truth and which ones are false. And another thing is when the subject is explained in a language that i don't understand. Since i am German and a lot of sites are in another language, at least the ones i find. English is not a problem but Spanish and France is, since i don't speak these languages. In a week my job training is beginning and i don't know how things (which are important for the job) are going to be explained in the vocational school. So i guess there is still a lot of try and error for me to do. I hand my normal school education 7 years ago, so i first have to get back into it. And i was always a slow writer. Not because i wanted to make the notes neat or pretty, i always wanted to make them readable. Just in case if others wanted my help with something.

hi! :D i was watching the video and i think you made an error in your notes. you wrote 'use ( ) or [ ], be consistent', except that is inaccurate. parenthesis ( ) are used for open intervals and brackets [ ] are used for closed intervals. for example, (2,4] is the same as 2
@studyquill6 жыл бұрын
I meant it as when doing intervals of increase/decrease, you can use either at the point where the slope is 0!
@ya-like-jazz6 жыл бұрын
@@studyquill hi! sorry for the late(ish) response! that does explain why you would write that. the way my school system taught us was to never include the zenith/nadir in the intervals haha so i've always used open intervals. but i can see why including the point in the interval could also make sense :) i used to do that a lot till my algebra teacher beat it out of me edit: no, my algebra teacher did not actually beat me (or anyone for that matter). but she was strict.

For many students, this will be too much info on one page. When you do practice drills (which is the only real way to learn math), fold the paper in half. Work problems out on the left side. When you go back to check and correct, make corrections and annotations on the right side. When you annotate, state whether the mistake was made due to calculation error or lack of concept understanding (which is the only 2 ways to get a math problem wrong. Next, take your notes to class and attend your professor’s office hours for concept clarification.
