I actually learned the 3rd technique on my own. I call it Being King Of All Trades. And when I found myself in a conversation where I don't know about topic I ask them," To be honest, I don't much about it, so, would you be helpful enough to explain me this?" 90% times it works, while their explaining I get to re evaluate the situation and a Chance to switch the topic.

Do we really have to talk with anyone? 😁 I'll start using *thank you for..* more often so thank you for sharing these techniques. Preparing something interesting to say before going out is a great practice. However I don’t agree that you have to develop your skills in every possible area. If we go by that logic we’ll be familiar with many things but really know nothing in the end.

Thank you for your comment :) Knowing something about everything is great though. It makes it so easy to connect with anyone you meet. I'm not talking about trying to develop or master those skills, but rather, to have general knowledge that will let you talk with anyone about anything.

Yep knowing something about everything definitely will make it easier to connect with anyone but there are so much areas it's almost impossible. Usually when I meet someone that is good in some particular area I ask him/her questions about things that interest me about that area and then based on his/her response I ask another question 😄 People in general love to talk about themselves (especially for something they are good at).

@@BetterThanYesterday Why would you want to connect with everyone. You only have so many hours in your life. Why waste your breath on people that don't share your interests? Why try so hard to be liked? It's okay when someone doesn't like you.

@@DJCornelis Come on guys, the message in these videos is not "connect with every single person and try to be liked by everyone". People might just want, for many different reasons, to be able to connect with others in some situations - and these are just tricks to go in that direction. I think you are taking to the absolute level the message of 'connecting with people', but this is not the tone of the videos.

@@DJCornelis This video is about knowing how to connect with the people you choose to connect with. The focus is on work-related connections, such as getting along with all your coworkers. Or having a successful time at a gathering and not feeling awkward or left out. Having the ability to have a cordial conversation with anyone you choose doesn't mean you're expected to go and be everyone's friend.

Hi, False. At 0:16 you say that 85% of success in life is directly due to communication skills. Those numbers were extrapolated from A Study of Engineering Education, authored by Charles Riborg Mann and published in 1918 by the Carnegie Foundation. The cited figures come from the data on pages 106-107. Here: "they showed that fifteen hundred engineers, who replied in writing to the question: What are the most important factors in determining probable success or failure in engineering? mentioned personal qualities more than seven times as frequently as they did knowledge of engineering science". This means that, actually, it's interpersonal skills and that's more than communication. DYOR.

Please do not "present mundane with passion". Everyone sees right through it and it makes you look pretentious, fake and desparate.
