I really appreciate this video. I enjoyed following along, doing the tapping, counting, and strumming. I see using this video as a stand alone warm-up exercise. 👍 I have a couple of your courses already, and despite life always getting in the way, I look to completing them in 2024. Thanks for everything.

It is funny the way our brain works and we think this is totally simple and then can't do it, so we don't do. You explain it so well with your beginning where we can relate to. Most definitely going to stop and go back to the basic with your guidance, thank you! You totally ROCK, thanks for being here for us!

Thanks a ton for all the videos. I can actually understand what I am doing wrong and how do I work to get it right. Its very simplified and I love them 🙏🏼

Tapping your foot, especially when playing guitar with others, is very important to staying on track and internalizing the beat.

Hi, What foot are you taping @good guitarist?
@KaptainCanuck9 ай бұрын
I tap with the same foot that stums. Most do the opposite foot, My strumming hand syncs to my tapping foot with my method.It takes very little time to coordinate because every full beat is a tap.

James...Thanks for this video. What is your recommendation when you have 8 down strokes in a measure on numbers and +? Do you only tap foot on numbers and if so how do you avoid speeding up to double time with your foot?
@Good_Guitarist9 ай бұрын
I would tap my foot on the numbers only. To get used to that, here's a simple exercise: Think of it like 2 motions: 1) Tap + strum together 2) strum only Do that over and over 1 2 1 2 1 2, and you'll be playing the pattern you described.

I was born and raised in Newfoundland. You’d have to nail my shoes to the floor to keep me from tapping out time. 😉🤣

You don't need to tap your foot to play in time 😅😂
