I'm enjoying watching these tape techniques for different areas.

Hello, I am French and I don't speak English well but if I understood correctly it is that you have to mobilize the HANDLE with a splint for example or bondage, is that it?

Been dealing with a wrist injury in this area for almost 6 weeks now. Even though the pain was quite minimal and I had full ROM after the first 2-3 days, it still hasn't improved. I'm gonna use this taping method but getting seriously depressed about it. Doc says just to keep resting it. Nurse at minor injuries unit just said to take painkillers. Here I am feeling low because it's stopped me in my tracks whilst doing well in the gym.

Sorry to hear bob. This particular injury can be quite a long process. Did you do it from a fall or repetitive stress?

@@BodyFitPhysiotherapy It sounds silly but I was trying to break an old wooden door with my palm we were gonna chuck on the fire. I feel pain on my palm just above my ulnar where I impacted it and then some pain directly on the opposite side.

@@Inty6 generally there are phases of management that you move through depending on your progression. Sometimes with rest alone these do not settle. In certain cases it may be deemed necessary to trial NSAIDs or even an injection. This needs to be guided by your medical team as they will be able to provide you with the best advice

@@BodyFitPhysiotherapy Thank you so much for your replies. I made the mistake of trying to train around it, machine chest exercises instead of bench, neutral grip DB press instead of standard etc. It is only really the past 7-8 days I've commited to resting it. Hopefully a couple of weeks of real rest will help and I haven't caused more damage with my impatience.

@Inty6 I have a tfcc injury on both of my wrists (one from repetitive stress at work in 2019, one from repetitive stress at the gym in 2022) turns out one of the bones in my wrist comes up a little short and makes me more prone to injury. I went MONTHS with unbearable pain in my wrist wearing a traditional wrist brace. My physical therapist gave me a set of exercises and recommended getting a wrist widget and it really does wonders. Google "tfcc exercises" and you'll see a lot of charts showing the exercises. The wrist widget is a brand that makes a specific tfcc brace. It's very minimal but works great. I also was instructed to ice it but I forget the frequency.... I was looking up this taping because I recently irritated BOTH of my wrists again during my move and I only have one wrist widget. Also gotta get back on my exercises that I've been neglecting. Hope your wrist is doing better now!

What kind of tape are u using?
@BodyFitPhysiotherapy Жыл бұрын
I choose to use 50mm elastic adhesive bandage and use ridged over the top for additional support

Can u use kinesiology tape?

Hi Muhammad in this situation kinesiology tape wouldn’t provide the support needed to resist the wrists movement
