I feel like this is the second part of a two part vid, and I missed the first. Did you mark the tang first before grinding away on it, or are you just eyeballing it? Either way, how are you going about making sure it's flat and even ?

Excellent explaining and demonstrating!! Thank you!! I take it that it’s important to drill holes in tang first? Any issues with pins aligning on glue up?

Drilling holes is the very first step I do. After you taper the tang you drill the handle material by clamping the blade down, that keeps the tang straight as well as the bolt holes.
