I go through waves with my Spanish where I study for a few months consistently and then give up because some of the grammar rules keeps on getting me. I just discovered your page and have been consuming your videos for like 3 hours and have already learned more than I expected!! I appreciate how easy you make it to understand better and that you instill confidence in just doing it and not overthinking whether it’s perfect. Thank you for the confidence boost, I’ll be returning to your page frequently!

Sometimes I get discouraged or I feel not motivated enough. I know enough to get by. But I think what I really need is a native to be around like 24/7 in order to pick up my listening skills. I’m a fast learner but the listening part just be having me like “really?!??”

LOL. "Really?" That's funny. Yes, it can be frustrating when you want to learn but it's not happening fast enough. I would love to be able to converse with someone in Spanish too, but so far, that has not worked out for me. I haven't given up though. Don't you give up either. The more you listen, the more you pick up. Go for it!

k lo k mi gente cómo están? You cannot learn spanish unless you have a passion for. If you do not have a passion for it you will get frustrated and bored and not be consistent. I do not have native speakers around me. What I do is create situations in my head or what I see. I find out how to say it in spanish. yo enteré cómo decirlo en español. I have a passion for spanish so I am speaking it in my head all the time. I vacation in the DR so it is so fulfilling to communicate. But it is hard for beginners. Say the word, look up the meaning of the word, use the word properly in communicating, tenses, subjunctive, etc. So follow this man's advice, it is good.

Just like the gym as he said, which I work at one. Makes the most money from people who get a membership (tool for change) then proceed to abandon the tool. YOU NEED TO BE MOTIVATED! Give yourself a LONG term reason to learn Spanish. Not “I need to learn this in one month” if you end up learning in that one month Bien. If not then no big deal because you didn’t set your expectations up for failure or disappointment. People go into the gym then workout for a singular day then never come back bc there muscles didn’t grow. You have to sleep dummy! You have to give your body TIME, to be able to rebuild and be ready for the next. Same thing, it’s a process. That you need to be committed too. The message of the video is great. I’m learning Spanish for the purpose of one day I want to make connections with people and their culture for better understanding. My goal is learn Spanish, no time frame as it’s something you’ll get better at each day. Comment and I’ll come back to this for updates whether months or years

Before we can take "Netflix" as a serious learning tool, we must first be familiar with the mechanics of language in general. At the very least we should be able to take a statement and turn it into a question.
@sandydegener6436
@sandydegener6436 3 жыл бұрын
@Deyvi :v, this is why people have such a hard time learning new languages. The traditional methodology will tell you to memorize 5,000 words (translated), all the verb tenses, then lots of phrases. PLEASE! You can speak a new language if you know how to handle five kinds of words. Yóu won't be giving dissertations on the technological advances of microprocessors at a university, but you can form a simple conversation. And we're talking about a month or less, depending on which format we use...full or intensive.

@@sandydegener6436 I wanna learn spanish and idk where to begin what do u think is the first i should do to learn ?
@sandydegener6436
@sandydegener6436 3 жыл бұрын
@@huesenpaul1394, ok, the first thing you must do is to understand the basics of language. We are either giving or asking for information. In Spanish we call information given, a "declaración" (switch the second "c" for a "t" and get rid of the "tilde" over the "o", and you get the English spelling: "declaration"). In English we use a "pregunta" to ASK for information. All conversation begins with information. Now for a bit of trivia. For a simple conversation, all we need to know how to use is 5 kinds of words. To create a declaración we will use just 4 But before we put together a declaración we need something to talk about, so let's get us some "vocabulario" (these are the names of things). For right now we only need 2. Look at the following: 🐈 gato (that's the pet that says "meow" and catches rodents) and 🐕 perro (that's the pet that barks and bites the mailman) Ok, now you know the names of these creatures, let's get to the declaración. What we are going to do is to identify these creatures and talk about them. Remember, keep the conversation as small as possible. We can get to "don Quijote" sized declaraciones later. So here we go. 🐈 (gato) Esto es un gato. 🐕 (perro) Esto es in perro. Now in school, they would have made you learn this as a whole unit. What we will do here is to separate these declaraciones into their components, as follows: 1. Esto. This is what we use to draw people's attention to what you are talking about. My term for this kind of word is an "indicador" (switch the second "d" for a "t" and you have the English spelling). This is used for objects that are IN REACH or IN HAND (that's the easiest way to create an "esto"). 2. es. This tells us what time frame we are referring to either yesterday, tomorrow or currently. For the beginning part we are going to refer to things in the current tense. Remember, keep things SIMPLE. You need a point of reference to use Past and Future, which will come later. 3. un. Here is MY definition of this component, as the traditional grammar definition is too complex. This component takes the following word from written form and turns it into a 3D object. 4. gato. This is the name of the image. For now, limit yourself to objects who's names end in "o": 🐈 gato 🐕 perro 🦄 unicornio (a mythological equine) 🦌venado (they pull Santa's sleigh) 🐂toro (a source of beef) 🐷chancho (Bacon) 🐇conejo (comes during Easter) There are other component forms, but let's worry about them later. So we have as follows: Declaración: 🐈 Esto es un gato. Pregunta: 🐈 ¿Es esto un gato? (you have to start each pregunta with a: "¿" [hold down the "?", and lift your finger when it flashes] So we have our declaración which gives us information, now let's ask for that information. This is done (in this kind of declaración) by simply switching places of "Esto" and "es" Pregunta: 🐈 ¿Es esto un gato? See how that works? Now we come to the 5th kind of word, where we agree or disagree. If the declaración IS correct we start with "Sí" If the declaration is NOT correct we start with "No" These are standalone words. After that we just add the declaración that corresponds to the image. This is known as a "respuesta". It is information given to a pregunta. So now let's see how this all comes together: 🐈 (gato) Declaración: Esto es un gato. Pregunta: ¿Es esto un gato? Respuesta: Si. Esto es un gato. See? This is how this works on ALL of them (for now). 🐕 (perro) Declaración: Esto es un perro. Pregunta: ¿Es esto un perro? Respuesta: Si. Esto es un perro. See how we have come full circle back to the Declaración? This is how we have a conversation. This is the mechanics of language. Now let's use the negative respuesta. 🐈 ¿Es esto un perro? No. Esto es un gato. 🐕 ¿Es esto un gato? No. Esto es un perro. Try this with the other animals we saw here. You must always have an IMAGE to go with each object, NEVER translate (until you can converse in your target language) Now if you learned ANY vocab in school, you can use it, just like the vocab we saw here. See how simple it is to speak other languages...if you know what you are doing? I hope this was a help. Good Luck!

Anything that works for you is the best method. But you can start with videos with comprehensible input. There are KZbin channels of comprehensible input videos for all levels, even absolute beginners: Dreaming Spanish, Spanish Playground, etc. You can also find materials with the themes you enjoy (for example, the Spanish edition of Harry Potter, or the Spanish version of your favorite Disney song), as long as it's not too difficult for you.
