The best thing that happened to me on my lyre harp journey is finding your community. People there are positive, encouraging, and they help each other out. Thank you, Sharon! A helpful thing to remember when teaching yourself the lyre is that it's OK to make mistakes. The lyre is a forgiving instrument. Experimenting helps you get better. It is fun too!

| THANK YOU | Thank you Teacher Sharon. I agree to be an Artist one must have their own unique presence in the work, other than that there is no defined voice. Art is full of noise and how that is shaped determines it's function.

Thank you Margie. Being true to ourselves and our arts brings joy and blessings. It is easy to copy but to be able to put our unique self takes courage and effort. I'm so glad that you got this ❤

I love your caution of using time wisely. Yes, it is easy to get caught up in collecting information, but it is much more rewarding in putting that information into practice. I needed that reminder! Thanks!😊

Creating a small journal is a good idea to take notes when we are watching the videos but develop a plan for your progress.

Great suggestion Connie! I usually just scribble everything on one notebook but a nice organized journal will be lovely to hold everything together. 💓

Hey Sharon, I got a 24 string lyre harp recently, I thought it would be best to get a bigger one so I could play more songs, but now I fear I might have hamstrung myself so to speak. Would it in your opinion be better to get a 16 string one or smaller to start learning and leave the 24 string one for later? Or should I just stick with what I have and just practice? I curious to hear your take on this.

I personally don't see why you would need to downgrade to lower strings unless you are finding the lyre to be too heavy or you need a different style. Anything you can learn on the 16 string lyre you can play on the 24. I play my 19 string lyre on regular basis because I like that I have access to most of the strings from both sides. I also enjoy adding harmony notes and having the extra notes allows me to do this. My 24 string unfortunately needs more work to make it playable. I bought this second hand so I can't return it. I just need to find time to fix it.
