First time I met with this INTJ guy, I disliked him. But the only person who shows up when I need a help is him. We made a chat group and I told them (all people in the group) that I was sick. He called me and said "hi just go down from ur dormitory" he showed up and brought me a bowl of porridge saying that it is good for my health. He didn't say anything. Just gave me that porridge, smile and telling me to get some rest then left. The other occasion, I sprinkled my hand, I told all my friends that my hand hurted. No one helped me. But him, he gave his medicine for me and said "you can use it until you get better" and didn't say anything. INTJ is the best human in this world. I am not lying. Only people who don't know them can't recognize it.

Mood. I once tried calling an INTJ guy that I had met cause I wanted to communicate and get to know them better, however picked up quickly that he didn’t like calls 😂 (even though he was the one who called me first when we had first met but said it was an accident :P which I played along to just to not make him feel uncomfortable or anything) Sooo when he returned my missed call and was like “why’d you call me?” I freaked out and lied and said “I was bored” when really I wasn’t. (I didn’t expect he’d pick up, let alone return a call LOL) He was all sarcastic about it like “yeah ofc you are, ofc you’d call me when you’re bored. Why else would you ever call” and we kinda just laughed it off but I dunno if he really meant it LOL. I’m tolerant so INTJs amuse me (and interesting to decipher lmao) and I feel like I could never hate them. I tried calling him again a week after. Didn’t pick up and I figured I knew why 😂 but I had texted him that it wasn’t “out of boredom” and I just wanted to wish him good luck before he went to boot camp lol. (Also not sure if this applied to ALL INTJs, but this one seemed to like compliments 🤔)

And how do you get an INTJ’s attention in the first place? 1. Pick up on an INTJ’s obscure, lofty or abstract comment, without explanation. You will have passed the first test. This is somewhat rare, and, by itself, interesting. “Oh, you read that too?” 2. Do things that are out of the ordinary, but with a clear intent. It will pique our curiosity. “Well, that was interesting. What are they up to? How did they come to do that? Hmmm…” Subtly surprise us, and it will leave a lasting impression. Recognize bluntness as a sign of respect. (We assume that you can handle it.) Sharpness, on the other hand… 9. Be very competent at something. We often have generally low expectations, and being proven wrong in this is delightful. 10. Precision. 11. Elegant solutions. 12. Pragmatism. 13. *Not an INTJ as far as I'm aware. But I always had hard time with people I liked. Especially love interests. I was intense, awkward, even mean which is not common in normal interactions. I guess the thing was that I actually cared. I was investing myself I would always use my intuition and observe (I had been learning about body language) and I would test and experiment I always overdid it by scaring them away. They never knew how deeply I was digging in but they got scared and I understand why I would be feeling uncomfortable too. And by overdid it is I literally memorized important things I captured and wrote them all down as if I was performing a scientific experiment and was about to make a conclusion from the data. I've shared it with my family and honestly they got offended since I was able to memorize so many things and I myself felt really good about it as I explored the 'file'. It used to bring me much joy I felt like psychologist or scientist just experimenting with humans and when I found out about Sherlock it was my favourite show and I wasn't able to compare as much as I might've wished, but I felt bit more understood and less alone.

@@angeliaparish it's how I found out about a small mafia in my country, by asking the right questions to specific traders I linked their words to a supplier, after some more digging I found out the supplier was a family member (deducted from the fact that the wares still sold for cheaper than market price and didn't pass more than 2 hands) from one of the traders who is threatening other traders to sell only to him, and he is now forming a small monopoly on specific goods because of it. My powers of observation are so good that I often think I could've been a great detective.

I think it may be different in guys, or at least it was for me in high school. Numbers four and six I would disagree with. Now if it hadn't been for a certain girl that sat behind me I would had abhorred physical contact perhaps to this day, and a bit ironically, she also sort of shattered number four. Let me explain. She was a cute cheerleader everyone knew, and she did something unbelievable in my journalism class. She would run her hands over my shoulders, neck, back of my head, etc, as she always sat behind me. It didn't turn me on, in fact I couldn't stand it at the start, but after two or three days I got used to it (my own private masseuse), and actually sort of missed it if she were sick or something. She never did this to anybody else, nor have I ever seen anybody ever do that. I think I just explained it to myself that she was very touchy, like an Italian perhaps, though she was a blue-eye like me. Over the course of the year we talked quite a bit, but she didn't seem to have any romantic interest in me, nor I of her. I think the constant rubdowns convinced me she was too forward. I never asked for any of it BTW. I'm rather surprised with how playful I can be at times, that back then I never thought of playfully slapping her hands away or anything, I just let it happen. So funny. So some time or other, maybe after the first week or two of the class, a football player whom sat to my right, told me as he was getting up to leave the class, why she's doing that to me. He said she was doing that to try to entice him to have interest in her, and I had to admit to him, that I was wondering the very same thing, because every once in a while she would be looking over at him as she was doing it, as if to say "You want some of this?" So he and I laughed our heads off about it. Perhaps it was the next day, she was doing this to the two of us again, so somehow or other we told her we knew what she was doing, and we all had a big laugh about it, but she never admitted that's why she did it IIRC. Oddly enough, even after being discovered, she kept doing it to me all year long. I almost wonder if she wasn't damaged or something, but she seemed very ordinary and never asked me for answers to tests, etc, as quite a few girls over the years did. So while she didn't seem to have romantic interest in me, she was VERY clingy and not giving space (at least in that classroom), and like I said, I got to where it was just a thing and I sort of liked it, so in her doing that, I lost my fear of being touched. Had she not been so casual about it, I would had associated it with love, but it taught me that people can touch you quite a bit, and not really mean anything by it. It's almost a shame, now that I think of it, that I never go to reunions, because I would love to talk to her about that time and have a big laugh. Speaking of touching, how do INTJ's (I am one) touch? I have been doing it this way for the longest. If I have to absolutely touch you to get your attention, I will touch you only with the tip of my index finger. I don't know why, but I think I do it that way because I'm trying to touch in such a way that it stands out, and actually it's just kind of weird. I guess it's sort of a game with me. I want to touch you so lightly, that I am gauging whether you're sensitive to touch or not. Funny I would persist in doing it that way to this day, and yet my cheerleader master was very heavy-handed. Also, that girl stood out for another reason. I would always see her at the indoor pep rallies of course, since she was out there cheering, and one time she broke her leg. I think within a week, she was out there, leg length cast and all, cheering. She was so cute dancing to the rock beat they played, and she had this little duck waddle the cast forced her to do. I recall people marveled at how she could break her leg with a heavy cast on, yet was going out there like it was just another day. It was probably foolish on her part, but she recovered as well as you would expect.

I have learnt to enjoy small talk. I largely ignore the subject at hand yet enjoy the positive, fleeting social interaction. Otherwise I barely socialise, so I may as well enjoy 'pretending to be a human' a little bit from time to time. I also don't at all mind having my decisions questioned. And I like being touched as long as it's not sexual in nature. Agree with other points tho. I would also add "be incompetent at anything that matters" as the MOST hate-able quality!

Yes, I'm afraid the reason we 'might' get along with small talk, is just because we're treated way too much like a pariah if we don't. I still love to reply to "How are you?" with "Hello", and since my response isn't in their program, it frequently throws conformists off. Another thing. Wouldn't you say that conformists typically use "Good morning" as a greeting, rather than wishing you have a good morning? I think the majority of time I respond with the basic Hello there too. It's just too rude to interrupt my train of thought with an empty phrase like that. Actually, "Good morning" used to be "Have a good morning", which is something you would say to somebody LEAVING you. So many phrases have been bastardized just for the sake of having a different way to make a greeting; greetings are so terrible boring after all.

I'm an ENFP dating an INTJ and it's the best thing ever. He's almost the opposite of what I am. He's consistent, conscientious, and cute as heck. ;) From the moment I met him in the math lab, I thought his analytic comments were just the cutest thing ever. Maybe it's an ENFP thing, but I really appreciated the way he made things simpler. He was always very kind as well. Sure, sometimes he could be rough around the edges, but that was just part of his charm. It is very easy making decisions with him or knowing what he's thinking since he will be as honest as possible. We both love talking about Philosophy, Psychology, Theology, and everything in between- which is probably why we got close so fast. I could tell from when I met him that emotions were hard for him to process, and I quickly learned that talking about them theoretically helped him process them better. I was his creative, bubbly friend that challenged what he did and believed, while he was my consistent analytic friend who would challenge me equally to where we both quickly became indispensable to each other. We ground each other very well and are that support when we need someone. At first, I thought he judged people very quickly since he would say he didn't like a particular person very quickly. But I later discovered this was because they had not "given him a reason to like them yet." :) Nine times out of ten, he would end up liking them on the next visit. I have broken many INTJ rules and he has broken many ENFP rules, which has just made us closer since we've had to work through so many things. Also, we have changed each other for the better. My INTJ found the way I connect to people fascinating, so without me realizing it, he watched me closely. Now, a year later, our mutual friends tell me his people skills have dramatically improved to where he seems like a different person. On the other hand, I have become more consistent with things in my life and am able to do things now that I couldn't have done otherwise. INTJ's are amazing people that often need that push to connect to people. It's hard for them sometimes since people can be chaotic and irrational. But, if they can put up with stepping on each other's toes at times, they can form an amazing, emotional connection and bond that lasts a lifetime. :) Update: One and a half years later and we're engaged to get married in May. ;D

As an INFJ, i find INTJs to be extremely calming to be around. They are among the few people i dont have to read their minds, make them "feel" a certain way, i can just exist with them. No stress. I can indulge completely in my thinking functions and talk concretely, scientifically about whatever we are interested in. Its very cleansing. I very much appreciate the INTJ clan and it would be nice to have more ofthem around. Except neither of us wants to be around people very often so we would only see each other like twice a year anyway. Lol 😂

Yes, that's just it. We INxJ types tend to be loners and don't have many positive experiences with socializing, so we don't usually have many close friends. I currently have thirty people whom I can confidently call friends. Of those, I have only met nine in person. Of those nine, I spend time with five of them on a regular basis. For an INTJ, once a month or so is regular enough. The rest of them are people whom I've only communicated with via social media and online forums. Of the thirty, I only consider one to be a best friend and she's my wife. Meeting people and making friends is very difficult. It's slightly easier if they are xNFx types because they are enough like me that I can relate to them, yet they are a little bit better at expressing emotions and encouraging me to loosen up a bit than NT types usually are. The other types who aren't NT or NF are very difficult for me to understand and relate with.

I like to throw books that have bad writing (*ahem* Fern Michaels), where an author is just totally full of b.s. (Foreword: There is no religion on ... world in my books because I am an atheist. Chp 1, p 3 "Genswelda ran down the dusty trail, praying to the gods that ..." ), or even where the reviews are so wrong that I can't possibly make myself read it (autobiographical story Review ".... is a brilliant writer, who knows how to write plot twists better than .." ). I thought, for a long time, I hated it, but no. I enjoy the outrage of really bad writing. It gives me the exercise of throwing a book, retrieving it and trying again, sometimes several times an hour, and in-between, getting an aerobic workout of pacing wildly, gesticulating and telling whomever is nearby how awful it all is and why. I thoroughly recommend it as a hobby.

As an INTJ, I say the same to INFJs. They are good at finding out our feelings which we try to hide. INFJs hide thinking while INTJs hide feeling. The battle plays out like INTJ points the gun towards the INFJ's head and INFJ points the gun towards INTJ's heart and in the whole world only these bullets are able to pierce both ways. Although, I don't really hate them coz only they are able to see our true struggle and understand it. And just like INTJs, INFJs also have high morals so they don't usually abuse that knowledge and neither do we.

This is very accurate! Me liking someone doesn't mean i am going to tell them or express it. My way is just random acts of generosity that perhaps will make the other person feel good (without the unnecessary expression of emotions which means immediate awkwardness and withdrawal). The best part is when the person in front of you acknowledges this and doesn't assume that if you don't speak then you're just a heartless mean person.

I see this phenomena online about INTJ's "ghosting" early in a relationship. It's not really ghosting perse - they tend to run away when feelings get intense and then come back later. Now that I understand this it's a lot easier to deal with. Romances, or ever close friendships are hard for me. I remember the first time I was around a couple who were dating and recently 'fallen in love'. I wondered what was wrong with them. I thought they were insane. I really struggled with dating before I met the woman who is now my wife. I didn't even try to when I was in high school, or even in college because I was way too insecure to even attempt it. I was just sure that I'd be rejected and I didn't want to experience that emotion. It's not that there weren't girls I was interested in or anything, but I didn't allow myself to attempt to develop a romance with them, partly because I wasn't sure if what I thought romance was would be anything like what they thought it was and partly because I thought that I could already predict unsuccessful outcomes from such attempts. It wasn't until after I had been out of college for a few years and had succeeded in getting a career underway, that I had enough self confidence to actually give it a try. My awkward attempts at dating are very likely the sort of misadventures that inspired Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady to create the sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory'. I think that's why I enjoyed watching that show sometimes - because it allowed me to laugh at the very sort of thing that I struggled with myself. I didn't romance the woman who later became my wife in the 'normal' way. By the time that I found out about her, I was taking a break from attempting romance because those prior attempts, while now rather funny in hindsight, had exhausted and demoralized me to some extent. I had a coworker who's wife was coworkers with this single woman that they (my coworker and his wife) thought would make a great match for me. They talked me into giving her a phone call, but it wasn't easy. I very nearly ignored their advice and came close to throwing the note with her number on it away several times before finally thinking 'Oh, what the heck, why not?' It turned out that we had so much in common, including being introverts, that we didn't even meet in person for another two months. We just talked to each other on the phone on a gradually increasing frequency. Finally, when we were calling each other almost every night, sometimes at the same time (I would get a busy signal because, as I'd find out later, she was also calling me - or vice versa), I realized that perhaps we ought to actually try going out on a date. I didn't ask her out right then though. No, first I had to think back to previous telephone conversations and determine where she might most enjoy going. After much deliberation, I narrowed it down to three restaurants, called her up and asked her. I think I was more nervous making that call than I had been when going to job interviews. What if I had chosen the wrong three options? Oh dear. :) Anyway, to keep this from turning into a whole blog in and of itself, it all worked out in the end, mostly, and we dated for three years before I determined that I wasn't mistaken in my initial idea that she might make the best wife for me and I asked her to marry me. Another very tense moment. To my relief, she said 'yes' and we've been married for 13 years now.

As an INTJ myself, I can relate. I spent quite some time analyzing an ENFJ girl who I learned to love/hate. She was very understanding and caring, but at the same time was overly confident in her decisions or way of thinking which wasn't always logically sound. Whenever we stood head to head on logical arguments, I mostly always just backed down because I didn't have the energy to argue with her because she didn't have the patience to fully understand my line of reasoning. Even though I had a serious crush on her, after a long and careful analysis I realized a relationship with her (or perhaps ENFJ's) would be unhealthy for someone of my type. I haven't spent much time analyzing a lot of ENFP's because for the most part, their level of energy and immaturity drives me away. But INFP's seem to be really genuine, and warm affectionate people I'd be interested in learning more about.

What is bugging is that he dismisses his own feelings, he rationalize everything that’s fine! But he says we fell in love cause it is just physiological... and that those feelings are not real... Ask away, I'm both an INFJ and INTJ so I can probably answer your question since most of my life I've been an INTJ. I do want to say that I used to see emotions as something that got in the way so I blocked them out to continue onward. Would not be surprised if other INTJs did the same. With no real emotions showing other than a very blunt brick wall, it would be pretty hard to read us IMO. But if an INTJ is spending time with you it probably means they do like you. I haven't really seen any other INFJs though, how are you supposed to spot a chameleon?

I'm an INTJ woman, married to an INFJ man for 34 years. We connect on so many levels and find that we are happiest just being with each other. Meaning, having deep conversations, planning business and pleasure and sharing deep thoughts and observations. Its awesome!

Dead on. I couldn't have said this better myself. The aspect of doing something for someone to make things work, with happiness being a side-effect, is a huge thing for me. I don't necessarily want to make you happy. I want to give you an environment where you can be the best you there is. I also sneak in and leave "perfect gifts" my few close friends. I'll never acknowledge it happened if they don't. I know it makes them super happy, but I don't know if I can handle them when they're super happy.

I find it hard for people to really be able to settle in with the intensity in which I want to get to know them haha. Basically, INTJ like signs are: a) excessive preparation for time they spend with you physically (picnics, outings, groupstudy) b) acts of service and gift giving (cooking, taking care of your space, getting fun trinkets for you) c) solving your problems d) creating fictional problems to solve together with you or fact dumping e) wasting an afternoon or evening away with you.

Secrets to turn off an INTJ 1. Not listening to them. And by listening I mean listening standards that we all have. 2. Disrespecting time yours and mine as well. 3. Being illiterate or having no passion at all or even not desiring to do something or look for it. 4. Telling us to "smile". 5. Not considering the fact that we have emotions too. It's just that we are bad at it so you need to poke us a little on that by asking us if you want to know and also have a patient ear on that. It takes time to figure our own emotions at time. 6. Always giggling for no reason around us or on seeing us, it's not funny at all, dude. 7. Not using your brain when it's necessary. 8. Asking us to repeat the thing we just told you yesterday indirect ways that we understand where your leading the conversation to eg: " i like you" "you look beautiful." We don't do things like that. 9. Getting offended when we speak the truth.

@@marvellpower 3,6,7, & 8. Maturity could be improved by understanding that people have different ways of communicating, or more "indirect" ways. Giggling is sometimes reflexive. People also live life at different speeds i.e some may seem like they don't have a passion, when they do, and just have not understood how to take action yet. Some people take time figure it out in their minds first. People might seem like they're not "using their brains" when in reality, they need more time to figure out the problem. Overall, the tone of impatience and anger in this comment indicates INTJ immaturity. And the assumption that all INTJs think the same.

Accurate analysis. Not being understood caused me a lot of emotional distress as a teenager (not yet knowing why, not yet knowing I was an INTJ or even about the MBTI model). Having matured since then, I know I must have also caused a lot of distress to more emotional types and still do to this day. Piece of advice I can give to INTJ guys: use your intuition and try to *really* understand what the other person needs by talking about it (only works if the other person is a mature personality). And also, if something about them upsets you, make sure the other person understands why you need to withdraw...

This video is so RELATABLE!! As an INTJ, now I know why I always want my friends to understand and JUST to believe that I really like them (but hoping they don’t “run to me” at the same time), yet they always complain about me having no space and time for them (e.g. not hanging out with them a lot or not replying msg ASAP), being hard to read... and so on. Thus I learned to be a bit more straight, even I think I already show enough signals but like what you said about, I will now directly tell them that I like them and what I like about them. So the negotiations would be compressed to save time. And I don’t have to give out more or even emotional signals that I cannot handle or afford at all.

INTP here- married to an INTJ. I am endlessly fascinated by him. Going on 12 years and I am still finding new facets of him to explore. How did I know he liked me? Hmm, I spent a lot of time researching him in advance (sounds creepy I know) and I’d already come to the conclusion he would probably like me, a lot. I knew I had him when he started figuring out things to do for me... making sure I had plenty of firewood, fixing my faucets for me, finding a new piece of equipment that made my job more efficient(that one seriously impressed me). This list just goes on and on. To this day, he is constantly finding new things that make my life easier and better. He Is a fantastic anchor for this INTP. I hit the jackpot.

My husband is the exact opposite of me. He is an ESFP. First, it matters to me if he liked me. That went for every guy. If they didn't think I had potential to be number one, I set them free without looking back. Why would you want to catch someone like that? True love is letting them decide if they want to stay or go, in the beginning. We have similar "love language." So when he gave me gifts, even food, I felt loved. I eventually asked him if he would want to be my boyfriend. There's a direct answer to that. So I made sure there was no guessing, because I didn't feel I had time to waste. But anyway, now that we are married, that's what he does. (Wastes time and interrupts me.) But I give it to him because I appreciate him. He dances, he's loud, he talks a lot. But I want to keep him for good. I make him laugh by my observations and stuff I say sometimes. Anyway, it's working out.

I loved the statement about desiring to know people's mechanics. Whenever I like someone I am obsessively fascinated by their speech patterns, likes, dislikes, body language, past, habits. I want to know it all and string it all together. I've always been good at reading people due to this, but when I truly like someone I need more. I need to dive in. It's like an addiction. Also, the thing about making a "gift" or "sentiment" seem like a significant is spot on. I loved how that was worded.

My boyfriend had no idea I was interested for a whole year. Finally texted him and asked him if he'd "fix my hot tub" (he is a contractor). He texted back "have you contacted the original installer", yet I thought he knew I had no hot tub! Finally this went nowhere, so I texted him again and said I had been flirting with him, and I was sorry if he was offended (which is what I believed had happened). When people who are important to me have a problem that I think I know the solution to, I often try to implement that solution, not only for their sake, but for my own curiosity. I'm an INTJ & have never mastered the art of explaining anything other than too much or not enough. When explaining something, I've found that the people who have little patients also have the least ability to understand the concept I'm trying to convey. These people always say I'm explaining in too much detail then, completely fail to understand what I just told them. At this point, they then accuse me of explaining poorly even though they insisted I explain more simply in the 1st place. Just infuriates me & I ignore them after that if I can. I can now judge pretty darn accurately who is able to understand, from who I just don't bother with.

I like how original she is in her way of thinking, i love her creative ideas and chill eay around things.
