My 8week old has cow milk protein allergy or intolerance i dont know exactly But my question is if i consume 200ml dairy milk how much will be transmitted to my baby through breastmilk And will that ellicit pain in him?

It's impossible to say how much milk protein gets through exactly. Watch the baby to see if there are any symptoms!

Hi, I'm feeding both formula and breastmilk, I can't tell if whichever one is affecting her. My baby spilt up after every meal or during feeding. She very gasy, and fussy. She won't sleep long. I tried gentease enfamil and original simlac, they won't help much. Can baby tastes the iron/metallic tastes ? Enfamil has really strong metallic tastes.

Great informational video, thanks! I believe this is what I’ve been dealing with in my 1 year old. Colic and reflux as a newborn until I eliminated dairy. Upon introducing solids, she started going less often and with cow OR goat milk products, her stool became hard as rocks and eventually impacted. I don’t completely understand why this happened with goat milk as well? After dislodging the impaction, I switched her to soy but see that a high percentage of babies intolerant to cow/goat will also be intolerant to soy. Why is that? So far she is doing well but the true test will be in a couple weeks when I stop the miralax…

Hi Dr Amy, I have been supplementing my baby girl (3 months old) with formula milk for almost a week, I started giving her twice a day, one during the night feeding (3 am) & another around the afternoon (1pm or 3pm). However for the past few days, she vomited after an hour or two after the formula feeding but only when I gave her the milk in the afternoon. Could she be allergic to cow milk? I am confused because she was fine with the AM feeding. Feeding position is the same for both feeding where she’s being held with head position above the tummy. She hasn’t developed any rashes & her stool is fine. She vomited curdled milk and the amount is a lot.

Thank you for this information Dr Amy. I'm a first time mom and I remember when my daughter was a week old and we introduced formula milk cause my nipple was inflamed that time and we just give 2x and I stopped and let her having a breast feed and we noticed that she have a lot of rashes (severe all over her face) and we just thought that it was newborn acne... After 2 weeks it was all gone but the white affect still there.. And I noticed also that she have this white rashes in her knee folds /neck and arms but its seems not bothering her. When we visited her pedia for check up she was diagnosed with ezcema... 6 months past by and I introduced to her formula milk again since my milk is dropping BUT when she just having a one sip from the bottle and she refused to drink and within a minute her voice change and she got a lot of redness in her neck (my husband encourage my baby to vomit by tapping her back and luckily she vomited twice and the rashes gone same her voice become normal again) we visited again to our pedia and raise our concern and he suggested to use different brand of milk but I tried so many times but my baby is not taking it. But my question is as a Mother I always have a cows milk in my cereal do you think it will affect her gut also as well in her ezcema? Coz seems her ezcema didnt go away And how and when can I introduce any dairy products

Hi Annie, thanks for sharing. Your experience is so common! Some of the strategies to deal with this depends on your daughter's age and the rest of her diet. I have 2 more videos in this series that will address these exact questions (both for your diet, and what she can have as alternatives), coming next week. In the meantime, to try to get her to take the milk your pediatrician recommended, you can try mixing a blend of her existing milk with the new milk for taste, and slowly increase the ratio of the new milk.

Hello Dr Amy we need your advice. Why my new born baby pass oily poo when I brestfeed her? Even my diet is close to vegetarian and consume Very limit amount of oil.we got no answer from Australia's PD... Please help
@AskDoctorAmy3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Unfortunately I can't give personalized medical advice without a doctor-patient relationship through Kinder. What did your PD say? Baby poop is tricky, as it's normal to be quite soft. I don't know what you mean by oil, or whether it's mucous. I encourage you to check out the second video in this series about how to avoid CMPI, and definitely encourage you to follow the PD's advice as the baby's growth and weight gain are tracked.

@@AskDoctorAmy Hi Dr.Amy it's poo but very oily.Just like the cooking oil, golden colour, liquidity, watery..absorbable by change mat. Exactly like pouring oil on a piece of napkin.. No luck with Australian' PD..😫. Is kinder an app or it’s a website?
@AskDoctorAmy3 жыл бұрын
@@gabe925 Hi there. Kinder is a digital pediatric clinic where we do pediatric medicine from patient's homes. www.gokinderkid.com. Unfortunately the service is not yet available in Australia. Your pediatrician should make sure the growth is on track, which is the most important thing. I'm sorry I can't give you a more personalized assessment without a doctor-patient relationship, but I will definitely do a video soon on newborn stools, which can definitely come in so many colors and textures!
