Note regarding #3: for the bots, the sequence 1NT;2C-2S;2NT-3S gives partner choice of games, allowing you to play in the 5-3 fit if it is there. The 3S bid is not marked as forcing but in my experience the bots will not pass it.

Some interesting "open 1NT or not" decisions in this set. Also hit 100% on board 6 in 3NT+1 - three rounds of diamonds, Qs up covered, spade back, then fortunate Ac and another club where they crash their honours and give me an entry to dummy

I would like to hear more from our host on this topic. I am used to looking for 5-2 fits when the short hand has a side doubleton but the orthodoxy for balanced hands (4-4-3-2 or 4-3-3-3) is to play in NT. Let's say the SJ was a 10, we opened 1NT, got transferred into spades, and partner continued with 2NT or 3NT. Are we really looking for spades here? Put it this way, if I made this bid at the table, I would expect to be questioned by my partner in the postmortem.
