How to tell if your foot is broken or sprained

Foot sprains and breaks typically have the same symptoms: pain, swelling and/or bruising. How can you tell which injury you have, and what should you do?

So I was doing sprints at school and I rolled my ankle but the whole top of my foot hurts like hell and my parents tell me to walk it off but I know something is wrong . Do you know what it could be

Me as well but after a month and a half it went away then I stepped on a metal bar and it came back but it's was the worst it was so far

@@georgerunyon5741 at about the 5 week point I too was doing much better. Then I walked in a very uneven field an set it off all over again. It’s about 2 months now and it’s almost back to normal for the most part. I do still have a very little bit of residual swelling. If all goes well, I’m going to have a chiropractor adjust and or mobilize my knee, ankle and foot in a week or two. It feels like it all got discombobulated from walking in such a unnatural way in an effort to protect the injury.

Hello Doc, I twisted my right foot and feel last Sunday, it’s been swelling around where the tarsal bone is located and around it; it’s making me limp & it’s painful but no pain medications needed. I’ve broke my left 5th metatarsal in the past -I was younger- and I remember how painful that was; this pain is not like that. How long should I ignore it for?

My right heel and bottom side hurt pretty bad ... once I get off my feet for a an hour to a few hours it stops but starts hurting again once I start walking then when I get up in the morning It’s pretty painful and I have to kinda hobble until I get going ... what do you think?

Put u equally can’t walk on a sprain so I don’t get the main distinguishing factor outside of xray
