How to test fuel pressure on a car without a fuel pressure test port.

Today I test the fuel pressure on a 2000 Nissan maxima. This car does not have a fuel pressure test port and has a solid fuel line (no useable connections) all the way from the fuel rail to the fuel pump. Keep watching to find out how I do it.

Do you remember the size of the fuel line? is it 5/16"?..There is a short section of rubber hose towards the firewall you could also tap into but it's below the air intake box. Good Vid.

I'd be interested in knowing how you bled off the pressure first before disconnecting the lines from the tank

Pull the fuel pump fuse or relay out, run or crank the engine over to bleed the system

Pull out the relay from the pump, run the engine until it cuts out and then attempt to start it again. Fuel will be depressurised

Autozone, advanced auto, O'rileys, ect. I got mine at autozone. They are usuall in the generic/HELP section.

The plastic green cap on the line by the throttle body is where you check the fuel pressure on that maxima

@@joequillun7790 probably not, most Japanese cars don’t have built in schrader valves in the fuel rails. I’ve only seen them on US/European cars
