I thought it was only me who received exhausted amorphous panels from Gallagher. I've seen many like that. And in the S50 many times at high voltage output an arc jumps towards the panel and burns.

Repairing at component level is tough and hard work . If the components are not discreet.

It's a pain in the neck for sure, especially when they're not labeled, no schematics, and that surface mount stuff.

Are you testing right across the two terminals on the S17 at the same time with the fault finder or just only the fence terminal by itself?

I test both terminals with the test device and the test device only shows 1.6 kV. I can send you a photo

Ok you likely have a bad output transformer then. There are two ways of fixing it. Either by desoldering the old transformer off and soldering on a New one, or replacing the whole board with a brand new one. If you'd like to send me a picture of the inside of your unit where the circuit board sits at, I'd like to see what version transformer you have.
