Hello my friend there is many different way to test the starter you can test with multimeter or manually just by removing the starter and connect the wire to the battery and touching the ground of the battery with the body of the starter anyway if you listen to the solenoid clicking when you try to start the scooter and the starter. Is not moving your starter if bad or full of oil

Hey, I did your test with the the one side of red side, the positive gets voltage the other side, no voltage. So that means that a solenoid's bad guy. Thank you. Let me know. It's probably so it's Chinese. Anyway, the brand's A Tao 50cc

I'm sorry I wasn't specific I have a teyin supper 200cc with a none working headlight only 50 miles on it I was told it was the relay seeing the bulb and fuse are good any help is appreciated and feel it has to be on the frame under body since its the only place I can't see

Hello my friend If you have a multimeter place the negative probe to the battery and the positive probe at the connection in top of the starter and try to start the scooter if you read 12v or more is good if the starter is not turning you need a new starter price is only $17 amzn.to/2RkUvMQ many times oil from the motor goes inside the starter . Ugh. It's not the solenoid, put in new starter... , still only attempts to start when bridging solenoid with screwdriver. Starts with kickstart... but we've worn out those gears now. ignition button still won't even attempt to roll starter over, no sound at all. Should I try replacing cdi?

Hello on a scooter the solenoid could be bad or the starter switch is bad or the solenoid is not getting voltage to open the connection

Hello Danny If you do not have spark at the plug you have to play the elimination game is your spark plug good ? is the boot of the spark plug broken ? is the wire at the spark plug burn or is ok ? is the spark plug coil good or is faulty ? is the cdi ( capacitor discarger ignection ) good or bad ? and is the stator and the pick up working or not ? is you kill switch next to your throttle on the right position or is broken ? unfortunately my friend when you do not have spark you have to play this game and sometime is just the pick up at the magneto that is dirty or not good anymore check my newest video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIrOpWBjnpd9jNU I hope you will find the problem my friend

Hello Lucas To start a scooter you needs three things: Gas, A spark, Cylinder compression when your scooter is not starting you have to ask yourself few question : is the fuel going to the carburetor ? ( broken fuel valve, broken vacuum line , dirty fuel filter , dirty fuel tank ) is the fuel mixture going inside your cylinder ? ( dirty fuel jets, broken manifold ) do you have a spark ? ( replace spark plug wire, replace cdi, dirty pick up sensor at the magneto ) if is your scooter is 150cc gy6 do you have a good cylinder compression ? if not the first thing I check is the clearance at the valves . So the solenoid is clicking which to me is a sign of it working. I can’t get my 150cc to turn over. Checked and changed the solenoid but nothing. Battery is fine. Could it be a stuck Benedix?

you make mistakes .....the relay can make click sounds but still BAD ....the relay can break down in power while warm or cold ..sometimes the starter of it self is shorting out...take off thd starter and tap it with a hammer to loose dirt and rust inside ...the brushes in side starter goes bad too ....
