upon reinstallation pay particular attention to how its clocked ! If you notice the terminal stud is right in line with the intake pipe and intake tube with the filter. so when installing make sure that terminal is at 12 oclock NOT 1130 or 1230--- or your float may not work correctly. just my 2dollars worth. Also i have bought new senders that have needed to take apart and rub the manufacturers goo off the wire rheostat and also bend tab to apply more pressure.. oem ones are better and very fixable sometimes, so dont throw it away !

The one I just got earlier from cjpony earlier this month is reading 24ohm I know it has at least 10gallons but it's not reading correctly I installed intelltronix gauges depending on settings reads empty of full I have checked all wires and added extra grounds would that be bad unit?

Is the wire going to the sending unit hot (12 volts)

So would a 64 be different? Mine is like an off on switch & the odds are i was sold a newer one

I thought it was a 73 empty and 10 full sending unit. That's what autometer gauge I bought.
