Can't tell you how much I prefer your soundtrack to the Boomer stuff that typically accompanies 60s Mustang culture

Thank you. I thought this would be an easy install to tackle by working it out as I go along, but your video gives me some extra confidence in tackling the job!

Thank you sir; it was very helpful to see the orientation of how the sensor went in. My 67 has been sitting for 12 years and I felt the need to replace the tank, sender, lines, and pump. Reason: I took that old sender out and it was a rusty as could be. I'm not putting fuel from all of that into a $ 7000 stroked/forged/everything edelbrock engine.

Excellent video. Glad to see your intrest. I've been working on Mustangs since 1972. If you ever want any tips for modifications, contact me. I can set up a front end using original parts that will make it handle. Also get a Duro Spark distributor and put a MSD 6A ignition box on it. Maverick disc brakes work great for the front.

I have question over a specific problem I'm having,here it goes. I have a issue where my car struggles to start right away,and I pumped it three or 6 pumps times and it take a long time to start,could it be my timing? Thank you!
@autoraysgarage89383 жыл бұрын
Mine struggle on cold starts as well but I know the Manuel choke on my carb is broke so I figure that was the problem and never looked further into the issue. I suggest getting a timing gun and seeing what your timing is at and go from there to dial it in to see if it helps

Yes perfect. same exact thing for me in my 65. fuel gauge dropped - took out the old sender - plastic float with fuel in it - replaced. i just filled my tank when it happened tho and the drain plug is frozen so had to pump it out 5 gal at a time - thanks for the vid

that sucks about the drain plug, i was actually surprised it had a drain plug when i climbed under the car the first time

I'm having a very difficult time getting that sending unit wedged in there so the ring can go back on. Good video, maybe going into more detail on problems that can arise would be good. Having a new rubber hose would have been a great idea instead of after draining the tank and then seeing that hose. I also cleaned the ring with steel wool and dawn and hot water to clear away all that gunk build up.

Exactly what I just needed to do and the same problem.

Nice Video! Did you put any thread sealant on your fuel tank drain plug? If so, what did you use?
@DitchFisherBengal3 жыл бұрын
Nice I think I need to do this after my fuel pump went out the gauge went to empty and never went back
@autoraysgarage89383 жыл бұрын
thats weird the pump and the sending unit will both die at the same time but hopefully that new sending unit get the gauge to work

Where did you put the gasket that came with it?

great video man, keeping rocking the jurassic park shirt!!! did you ever think of checking it, and just replacing the float? maybe save it now as a spare, yeah? or do you think it's best to just get rid of these, and replace them, when they're playing up. because they aren't that expensive. thanks man!

Why all the issues with the sending wire? It looks like you were bending something around with the big screwdriver and the 5-pound hammer to get the sock connector back on?
@autoraysgarage89387 ай бұрын
Trying to get the electrical connector bad on snug. It wasn’t fitting snug so just did a light tap with hammer to have it sit flush

Should of 1. Used a screwdriver to tap off the ring. 2. Used some grease or gasket sealer to hold the gasket in place so it seals properly instead of it keeping falling down....for next time ;)
