How To Make Aloe Vera Gel Thicker Similar To Those Sold In Stores
In this video, I used xanthan gum as thickener. You can use xanthan gum up to 2% depending on how thick you want your gel.

It really depends on how you handle the gel. If you dip your fingers into it, it wouldn't last long, probably a week in the refrigerator. But, if you use a spoon, it can last up to a month or even 2 months. I have gel in the refrigerator that lasts that long. Aloe vera gel contains antibiotic and antifungal compounds that can potentially delay or inhibit microorganisms that are responsible for deterioration and spoilage. It has compounds that acts as preservative itself. If you prepare aloe vera gel for personal use, there is no need for preservative because it will be consumed before it deteriorates. But if you are planning to sell your gel, you have to use a good preservative that are sold in commercially.

Xanthan gum is used to thicken the gel, you can also use guar gum or carbomer with a ph adjuster. You can skip it if you don't want a thicker gel.
