Hey Travis.. could you show us your favourite throw for BJJ. 45 year old blue belt here that loves surprising the young guns.

I think that sacrifice throws are the best against the defensive opponents and thank God they exist, it so easy to deal with them

Thank you so much . I was actually shown taio off this high grip when I first started Judo as a kid. Later my BJJ professor, who's also a Judo black belt told me it's better to have a lapel grip for taio. Now I can claim I was right since an Olympic champion at that level does it off the high grip 👍👍👍🙂

Sorry but your BJJ Professor is right it is better to have the lapel but that doesn't mean doing it from a high handgrip is wrong or not a good option. Especially when the opponents are the same side.

@@TravisStevensgrappling he's always right, it's just that everyone now and then I like to have some small victories to confirm my old Judo professor was right too. 🙂👍

@@TravisStevensgrapplingwhy is it better though?^^ For the Version with the lapel, is it "safer" because the Opponent cant take my back as easily or do you just have better Control for throwing and "twisting" him? Thank you very much in Advance ur Channel is so helpfull with your Clips and tatctics!!

These short and sweet videos are fantastic. They give me bite-sized moves to think about in randori. Thanks for the content Travis.

Hey Travis, can you make video about best throws that lead into good bjj positions, usually when I hip toss somebody I lose the ground position but if I pull guard as fast as I can I usually do good and finish with bjj, thanks

Can I finish this without rolling and ending up on bottom?
@TravisStevensgrappling4 жыл бұрын
Yes of course. I just never do it to save my partner while practicing. But all you have to do is switch your hips once they hit the floor to land in a traditional Kase position.

Gold needless to say more.

Wait doesn’t that count as an ippon?. It looked like your back ended up on the mat instead of your opponents.
