Well, almost 64 I'm taking the plunge. I ordered 2 boards, because I will need them :p. I played this only once at my neighbors. Good heavens, I was the "keystone cops" trying to even hit the board. I'd never seen it before. The acupuncturist said I'm getting the "old lady curved upper back". I thought, I watch this every chance I get. Looked to me like this will exercise the muscles I need to. I don't want a hunched upper back 😒. They come next Tuesday. Yay, just when triple digits are returning with a fury. So older people. Take the leap if you're in my shoes. And Thank You for this video! Absolutely beginner 🤗

I just got a new set of Backyard Hero boards that came with two sided bags. I'm not a fan because they seem loose and cannot get a good handle. It also seems there's a chalk bag or something, but it's messy and I can't stand it. Have you heard of bags with chalk in them?
@CornholeBagReviews
@CornholeBagReviews 2 жыл бұрын
I believe that’s real corn, leaves a powder as the bags get thrown around
@jremedy7053
@jremedy7053 2 жыл бұрын
@@CornholeBagReviews I ran them through the laundry out of disparity, I think corn would've cooked off and been mushy or dried into a brick. Even after they still emit a chalky powder. Almost feels like there's a separate smaller chalk bag sewn in. Gonna order some different bags eventually but in the meantime I think I'm reverting back to my old bags where both sides are the same. Thanks for your reply, even after googling the Backyard Hero bags I couldn't find anything about the chalk.

How do I know which side is the fast side
@MrEdwardCollins
@MrEdwardCollins 2 жыл бұрын
One way is to determine which is the fast side and which is the slow side it to let the bags, and gravity, tell you. Grab two bags and stand behind the back of the board. Set each bag on the board in the two corners. Set one bag with one side up and set the other bag with the _other_ side up. Flatten each bag as much as possible and make sure they are evenly placed in each corner. Now simply lift the back of the board up, very slowly, slowly increasing the sharpness of the angle. The bag with the fast side placed down will start to move and slide towards the bottom of the board sooner than the bag with the slow side down.

Thanks for the insight! I noticed you had the seam pointed towards the board you are throwing to. Do you have a preference for the direction the seam points when you grip it? Also, any thoughts on backswing consistency? I see a lot of pros seem to swing their arm behind their back...seems like this would impart some inconsistency from this left/right arm movement, yet they are pros and seem to do alright with it... guessing a consistent release point solves it.
@CornholeBagReviews
@CornholeBagReviews 3 жыл бұрын
The seam is totally user preference, I like having my seam at the top when i grip so it never touches my hand. Purely a mental thing. In terms of backswing its all what works for you! I step when I throw so I need less arm power and am able to keep my backswing short which helps me with consistency, but some people like a really big backswing. Just try out things and find what works the best for you.

How do you do the scoring
@315kurtis
@315kurtis 2 жыл бұрын
Probly found what you were looking for already but just incase: 1 point on the board, 3 points for in the hole, and 0 off the board. Tally up the points for each player and the difference between the 2 is awarded to the player with more points scored that round! Hope this helps

Begginer here, what conditions would make it so that the board is sticky/slick?
@CornholeBagReviews

Depends on the person, the wrist naturally moves a little bit just from the swing. Some people have a wrist flick some do more of an arm swing, just personal preference

Which bag do I buy
@315kurtis
@315kurtis 2 жыл бұрын
Its a preference but a good start is for a higher loft shooter id go with 6(slow side) and 8+ (fast side). For more aggressive/faster shooter id start around 4/5 (slow side) and 7+ (fast side). Many bags $50-$60 is a great start. (Renyolds, allcornhole brands...etc for example)
