How to throw a right cross isn't as clear as you might think. The right cross is an incredibly powerful strike when it's thrown correctly. Go to: howtofightnow.com/?... ...for the rest of my free video series.
This video series will teach you how to knock someone out in one single punch.
A boxing cross is the power punch from your rear or dominant hand. Unfortunately, most people who teach boxing technique are wrong, and they won't teach you the correct way to throw a cross. The most important distinction in right cross technique is the way that you step your right foot on when punching... as this video will explain.
If you want more boxing technique tips, or you want to learn how to knock someone out, go to howtofightnow.com for more lessons... I have the secrets for adding INSANE power to your punches and they're free.

Hey man, I have only been in a few fights myself and thinking back on it, many of your techniques would have been greatly beneficial to me if I knew them in the time. I have always enjoyed fighting, not for the feeling of hurting others but because I feel like I'm good and it and honestly it's just fun to do especially with people that can keep their sportsmanship. You seem like a really cool guy on top of that and I'm definitely gonna go to your website. One day I hope to be as defensively capable as yourself.

Nice. Just found your stuff today and like it a lot. RIght hand, right leg connection is key. It pulls the balance back under control. I'd disagree when you that people lean forward to get more power but that's just words. They lean forward because they rush and don't have the footwork right. And they are scared of getting hit so they throw their hands without the body/legs.

The balance and push off the ball of the foot is to gain momentum, velocity and explosion. Throw a punch with your pivot planted and then another without it planted; You feel the extra little bit of force.

Hey Travis? Is it safe to still close your fist in a street fight? I always practice with half closed fist because I was taught the knuckles can be broken. What is your take? I mostly do hammerfists and gauging. What do you recommend? I have seen a video where you were so quick and dodged punches. I do about 2 minutes of quick movement intervals everyday. Anyway I subscribed.

i only have 1 question: why do lift your right leg up before you throw that cross instead of sliding in and have your foot on the ground the whole way and give it a little twist at the end for extra power. Because it is looking like your punching air and doesnt seem that powerful to be honest.

You sir are a great martial artist who has a high level of understanding and a great presentation. You however are teaching fighting in a ring. These are videos that I would recommend to anyone who wants to fight in the ring. However if someone wanted pure self defense on the street I would send them somewhere else first. Again, these are great videos, just geared toward ring fighting.

What I learnt was to step forward jab the chest then big swing to the face its been working so far they dont see it coming and what I realised was that the jab buts the of balance ...which means if you hit them in the face right after you could have a chance to knock them to the floor or knock them out ..thanks

What reason is there to push off and balance on the ball of the foot, as opposed to the entire foot? Plant it and keep it flat on the ground, anchored to the earth, and you get more stability and a larger surface area to push off of.

LS Chavez, going against the Philly shell, remember you don't always need to jab the head. When heads out of range, throw a triple jab w the first two jabs aimed at his shoulder. Land the third on his face and follow up with a cross or lead hook or both. You won't believe how much it can throw a boxer off because you can put him off balance (momentarily). I know BC I box with the Philly shell. If you are an extremely strong puncher you should have no problem.

A little secret tip for beginners. When making a fist, start by tucking in your pinky finger first, then tuck in your ring finger, then your middle finger and so on. It'll help make a tighter fist, which will help with throw a harder punch. Also turn your hip into the punch - like you're throwing a baseball or swinging a bat.

if you want to see how to throw a right cross, watch some slo-mo of mike Tyson, everyone talks about his left hook and uppercuts, but his right cross put a lot of lights out. he did what this guy is saying, more or less...he exploded his bodyweight through the punch while staying balanced.
