Good stuff. I couldn't throw anhyzer forehand because I was moving my wrist. Gonna practice the elbow angle which makes sense by the way. Ty for helping us improve our game.

@@GladiatorDiscGolf Didn't have much luck, but to be fair, I've got a million different things running thru my head when I'm on the Tee. Still a total noob with just a month now of light practice and 3 courses under my belt. Did shoot a +6 at Ocean County Park Fri afternoon. My best score yet. Starting to click a little with the putting which was, and still is, my weekest link. Last week I hit a 90' shot for birdie by accident while just trying to lay up. Lol. Today hit a 40', while actually trying, for a par on an elevated basket and in the wind. Almost hit another almost identical shot on another elevated basket, but it went thru the chains. Def progress from the other 2 times I've putted on a course, but still missed a few easier putts or I may have been closer to Even. Backhand is very technical. Never realized how much goes into it, and how much form and timing can throw it all off. By putting in time with the backhand, I've put the forehand on hold, and couldn't seem to find it today. When I first started I gravitated towards the forehand cuz it just felt smooth and natural for me, I guess being a former baseball player and pitcher who threw a lot of side arm pitches. Just couldn't get it to click today on the course. Got a few but they came off wobbly. Mainly on target, but half the usual distance and wobbly. Been trying to cram as much learning in as possible before it gets too cold, and I think it's putting a damper on the progress in certain areas. Still gung-ho to learn tho. I'll be out again this wknd. See if I can clear the thoughts and just let my body do it's thing. Sorry for the long reply. Just stoked on the game. I haven't even ridden my BMX in a month, and BMX is my life.

Beginner here and I’m getting soreness when throwing bh near arm pit like my lat area. Any idea? Just muscle soreness or am I possibly doing something wrong? Thanks for any feedback. Love the channel great stuff👍
@GladiatorDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support! I can’t say I’ve experienced some soreness in that specific area, but soreness in the back can happen from overuse. Just take it easy the next few days and monitor it! Also, filming yourself while you throw is always good and can help you maybe figure this out!

Thanks for the input. I think I’ve been pulling the disc from the extension to early before opening hips causing me to over use arm. Causing the soreness in a muscle prolly don’t use regularly. Keep coming with those videos man, very informative and useful. 👍 thanks again

I had a problem early releasing anhyzer shots until I focused on feeling the weight of the outer edge of the disc.

@@GladiatorDiscGolf Hard to explain but it has to do with what portion of the disc you "feel" as you're throwing. Normally it's where your hand is on the disc but if I focus on the part of the disc opposite of my hand I don't let it go early. It's almost the same in putting for me, I do better focusing on the weight of the outside of the disc so I don't hit the left side of the chains and chain-out.

That’s super interesting! I’ve never thought of it that way before. I will have to mess around with that idea!

Your tip about changing grip for anhyser is just flat out wrong, sorry. If you do that, you will 1. throw anhyser, with a nose up and have a really hard time controlling the angle especially on moderate anhyzer angles. 2- if you change the angle of the disc in your grip depending on how much anhyzer you put on, you will not only mess up the kinetic chain between your forearm and wrist but also the directional forces from hip angle to shoulder plain etc in the trowing motion. What you should do instead, is to keep the same grip (as neutral and relaxed as possible, while keeping the wing in line with the forearm) on all throwing angles and aim at the apex of the flight. So, if you throw a steep anhyser, the apex of the flight will be somewhere in the sky high and left. That means that you need to have less flexion in the hips and show a little bit more "back to the target" ( I.e round a little).

Thanks for your insightful comment! I completely agree that this isn’t the only way to throw anhyzer. I typically throw the way you described. BUT this concept is something I heard a pro say before I made this video. I thought on it and tested it a little bit. It works but does have some of the faults that you clearly pointed out. I think it can be helpful in situations where you don’t have room for a full throw (I.e. pinched off in the woods with a patent pending throw).
