Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

*Altogether a well made lure **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s the skirt seems to stay on well and the whole thing is bigger than I thought it would be. The 2 metal have a nice plating on them as well.*

Put a loop knot on the bottom jig and you don't have to worry about where the knot is in comparison to the eyelet for horizontal presentation

A funny story about this technique. I did this one day after seeing someone throw 2 jigs for walleyes. So I rigged up this exact way but I never knew what the knot was called I didn't know It was a legit set up but I've landed flatheads on this exact set up thank you sir.

Not sure if you will ever read this but I have a question for you. Why don't you also tie the bottom Jig with a Palomar knot, just like the top Jig? That way, they would both hang to the side! Just a question.

This guy is the sh!t,this is the correct way & makes sense…Lots of people tie the loop with the jig hanging away from the line which causes the jig to hang vertical in the water…

Tye a loop on bottom jig it will stay horizontal
@tjtewshews55312 жыл бұрын
The way I do this with fluorocarbon is to try and pinch the end a bit at first and while holding the line with one hand, I squeeze the line with my index and thumb with the other hand and slide my fingers to the very end of the bend leaving a mm or so and that closes it up enough to squeeze it through most 1/32 jighead eyelets. Then you carefully pull it through with your other hand and..... wa llah

Great video and thanks. Would a loob knot be useful on the bottom to keep from having to mess with repositioning it?
@KansasAnglingExperience4 жыл бұрын
A loop knot will not let your bait stay horizontal in the water, it will just cause it to hang down and not look natural. Loop knots are more useful when using minnows so they’ll swim more freely. But jigs I prefer to remain horizontal and more natural looking.

Yep. Been tying it since I was 5-6 and have no idea what it’s called. Lol
@brianstarr85583 жыл бұрын
I was told it was a "guide knot" but all I could find was that what I tie looks like a Pitzen? Is it where you pinch the line together after the jig is on and leave about six inch tag end to wrap about 5 times toward the jig then run the end through the loop at the pinch? Its a fast and strong knot. I could not tell in the video but is that what you were tying too?
