Im glad i came also to learn and many others should do same as cultures should be taught in school as children would love to hear about othe cultures.my eldest who is nearly 40 when small at school they had days learning about children in he class different cultures.the children all loved it learning and being accepting of others.xx

@@afshantarannum341 it is both. sikhi accepts people of all races and nationalities, making it a religion. But at the same time, there are also many punjabi's who wear turbans and call themselves sikh without actually following the practices, but do so just because of their culture

This is probably one of the best tutorial videos I've ever seen on KZbin. It has the clearest, well put together, classiest, production of not just turbans, but any information video to date. (I say this after watching 1,000's of videos online). Another matter I wanted to discuss is your diction. It is perfect and I truly honor what you have done. As a Latino American I was raised in a time where you could only speak English in schools and scholastic functions. I strove to become a citizen of America and speak the language perfectly. I have succeeded in doing that but noticed I am almost alone when it comes to that matter except for now. Excuse me for going on and on, but I rarely hear anyone communicate as well with perfect diction in the English language so my hat or turban is off to you so to speak. Love how you organized it in a very concise way and just wanted you to know that I have really learned something about the wearing of the turban. I am in the middle of making a puppet music video with a spy twist. One of my characters I am acting as a snakecharmer and wanted to wear a turban to look more authentic, but the store bought turbans just didn't fit the part so I decided to learn to tie my own turban to look the part. I've watched dozens of videos till I came to your's. Wow you just blew me away with how well you were able to convey your message through the video. Thank you so much for your awesome video and I wish you and your's a lovely day. Stay safe my friend.

As a white American Sikh ( new to the faith) I worry wearing a turban people will think I’m trying to steal someone’s culture I know I can’t let people dictate what I do for God an this amazing faith but at times it’s hard. Thank you for this wonderful video.

Take your time and get used to the style you want and ease into confidence. It took me awhile to wear the many Kurtas given to me by the local aunties and uncles in my neighborhood. But after awhile I just put them on and did my thing. Yeah I got attacked a few times with people thinking I'm a Muslim or a brainwashed whitey lol but truth is I'm a Jew with Indian(Native American) blood despite my white skin. But the comfort I have while wearing Kurtas is better than most American clothing. If others don't like what I wear don't look lol.

Seems like a lot of work to do everyday. Maintaining long hair and tying a turban, requires a lot of patience and discipline . I don't think an average person can do it. Good job that you have the discipline to do that much work to maintain your hair and turban. I don't think I would have the patience to grow my hair long and tie a turban everyday.

Turbans off to you 😆
@navjotsingh73602 жыл бұрын
@@dharmannisgod9950 No, that is even disrespectful. we only take off our turbans when we have to take care of our hairs. We even tie a small comfy one when sleeping. and only time a devoted Sikh is allowed to take of his turban is while washing his hair, combing them or applying some oil or moisturizer. Randomly taking of your turban like people do with hats is dishonorable to the turban and it's just not practical cause it takes at least 5 mins to put on a rough turban, 30 minutes for a okay looking and 45 min to do it properly in simple styles. But if someone wanna tie some creative turbans and show a lot of skill it can take 2 to 3 hours for really complex ones.

Also This is the first video I learnt the name of the Patka. I am trying to choose a colour for my first Dastar! Not ready to wear full time I think its more difficult for a caucasion female in western society to wear one but as I am reading Guru Granth Sahib Ji I feel it is a good start and suitable to wear in those moments to honor the Guru.

*main believe of Sikhism* in sikhi or as the western called it Sikhism 😊 in Sikhism we believe in one God as.. guru nanak ji first fonder of sikhi and the prophet of Sikhism said there is no Muslims or Hindu or Christians there is only one God and a sikh means a learner and and guru the teacher.. know the last guru is guru granth sahib or in English holy book..... as the 10 guru have written down Everything for Sikhs to follow and said now the Sikhs will learn from guru granth sahib and gurudwara our temples is only a gurudwara because it has copy of the guru granth sahib in it..... ( gurudwara means a doorway to guru) ABOUT GOD we believe that there is one God but people give God different names and people worship God statue like Hindu worship statue they have give God a face a gender and the in Islam they have given God a name and saying God lives in heaven but we believe God is everywhere it is creater of reality and is reality itself is all Gods same? yes it is the same God but people interpretation of God is different and guru teaching we will connect with God (side note guru is same as prophet ) there are two kinds of sikhs one are sikh the one that cut hair and don't follow the guru teaching but still believe in god.... gurusikh the one who follow the guru teaching a.k.a the khalsa the people who carry the little knife and wear the 5ks 1 kirpan (a small curved sword of any size, shape or metal to protect themselves and anyone in need) 2 kesh (unshorn hair and beard) 3 kangha (a comb usually wooden to symbol clearness) 4 kara (a bracelet, usually made of iron or steel to symbol the infinite of God) 5 kachera (an undergarment) Khalsa means pure and only the khalsa are allowed to carry the little knife WHAT HELL AND HEAVEN IN SIKHISM well to simplify we don't believe in hell as the world we live is hell we just reincarnation over and over again until we get ego free and until bad karma get cleaned and then go to heaven ....like if you have like lots of bad krama you just reincarnation into animals over and over as animals have souls like we do everything is equally in God eyes the first guru nanak ji said that there are 84 lakh animals form the worst of the worst will reincarnation into before they are reincarnation into a human being again if you don't have a lot of bad karma but you didn't connect with God then you reincarnation into human beings again and this time you will reincarnation into a religious family *you have any questions ask me* side note the name waheguru is what i call god but guru nanak ji in he did say that people give him different names as when God is described in guru granth sahib it is written in number like it is written Ek Onkar meaning one God or the number 1 but people need a name to chant and pray to that why guru nanak ji give a name to God the name waheguru meaning wonders Lord... that why name waheguru was given.... thought I should explain it clearly
