The Ultimate Survival Knot

Knots! Learn them! Use them! The Evenk Hitch is the first knot in a series of knots that I use to tie up a tarp line or for an expedient emergency shelter.
You can use the Evenk hitch to quickly attaching a fixed line to an pole such as a tree. This quick knot is ideal for pitching a tarp shelter or running a ridgeline.

Do you have a book that illustrates knot tying? I don't have cell service in the mountains and wanted a backup in case I forget how to tie a knot.

I dont have a recommended book for knots. There are knot cards however that I would recommend. They would fit into your wallet or inside your backpack. I think they would be more practical to have with you at all times. Search for Pro-Knot knot cards when you have service.
