I dig the swirls you got around the sides and back. They seem more organic than the twisted spiral part to me. I'd like to make a whole shirt just various intermingled swirls, though I'm not sure how to accomplish that.

That turned out beautifully. I've been playing around with a lot of single sided gravity dyes and I love how the rest of the shirt is even more of a surprise than the usual ice dye. I also really like the idea of the monolithic ice cube. Do you find that it changes the flow you get at all as opposed to smaller cubes?

Thank you so much! I love doing single sided gravity dyes too. The dye flow is always so interesting and different on each one. I live in the south and smaller ice cubes just don't work here during the summer. I can put smaller cubes on the shirt and in less than 30 minutes they will be totally melted. The larger chunks at least last an hour or so. I need the ice to remain longer here to keep the shirt from drying out and to allow the dye to flow. Spraying the soda ash solution on the shirt really helps too. I learned a lot last summer when I started doing a bunch of gravity dyes. Trial and error was an amazing teacher. 😀
