How To Make A Double Fan Fold and Spiral Ice Dyed Tie Dye Shirt

This tutorial video is for an experimental fold. I tied 2 fan folds separately, and then spiraled the middle area. I then ice dyed the shirt using some great colors for color splits.

This is really cool, lots of splashes of color all over the place. I had expected to see a bit more white, but it seems the colors moved well enough to make the white areas just be an accent instead of a primary.

Good morning Angie, I love the shirt! Beautiful choice of colors. I was wandering, would the spiral be more defined if I put the colors as pie slices? I hope this makes sence. Thanks for another great video and as always you inspire me!

Thank you! I'm not sure if that would've made a huge difference. I think it would've been busier color wise in the middle if I would've applied the dye in pie shapes. Just because I would've had more bands of color.

which Dharma trading company fiber reactive dyes do the best color splits?

The ones with the letters next to the color name don't split. I also don't get a lot of splits from most yellows. In general, the darker colors have fantastic splits. Some of my favorites are black cherry, eggplant, oxblood red, moss green, brazilnut, charcoal, shiitake, raven, and many more.
