The Sunken Ant is a tried and true pattern. It is a must have terrestrial to have in your box.
Terrestrials are an important food source for trout, especially in the late summer/early fall when the bug activity is slowing. In my opinion, ants are at the top of the list when it comes to terrestrials.
I really like fishing this pattern in lower, clearer water conditions the late summer/early fall bring. Hitting those shallow runs or side banks lies is where this bug will shine.
This is my spin on this fabulous pattern.
Enjoy and tight lines!
